Trump Recognized for Remarkable “Comeback”

(Nov. 6, 2024) — At 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, Fox News announced its determination that former President Donald J. Trump won the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes “in what is going to be the biggest political phoenix-from-the-ashes story in history,” as newscaster Bret Baier put it.

Trump is “just a few votes away from clinching” the U.S. presidency, co-anchor Martha McCallum said, with 267 electoral votes to 216 for Democrat presidential candidate Kamala D. Harris.

Trump reportedly won the Keystone State with 51.2% of the votes to 47.8% for Harris, with 91% of all votes counted.

Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nevada and Arizona remain to be tabulated.

Trump wll be addressing supporters at his campaign headquarters at Mar-a-Lago, Fox reported at 1:25.

The U.S. Senate leadership will shift to the Republicans, election results show, but the majority in the House of Representatives is at this time undetermined.

Baier and his fellow panelists Harold Ford, Jr.; Brit Hume; Charles Hurt; Dana Perino; and several others all expressed confidence that Trump would win the necessary 270 electoral votes to serve as the nation’s 47th president.

Hume, who has in the past been critical of Trump, remarked on the unprecedented political “comeback” he perceives Trump has made.

Former Clinton pollster and longtime political observer affirmed his acceptance that Trump will be the next president.

Ford, a Democrat, congratulated Trump on a “great win” and said he hoped to see more unity among Americans.

At 1:38, Harris was announced as the winner of Minnesota with the caveat that she has no path to 270 electoral votes. “Donald Trump will be the 47th president of the United States,” Baier said as the segment came to a close.
