Spread the love

(Sep. 28, 2024) — There was a time I believed in fairy tales, in wishing upon the first star and in dreams coming true. But “with age comes wisdom,” so I’m told. Yet, it did not seem like “wisdom” that tried to change my mind. It looked like hurt, uncertainty, bitterness, cynicism and hopelessness.

Then I met you: the Spark. You took the form of a voice stirring my soul, eyes holding me in an embrace, two people falling in love; you even came in the form of a child’s smile and laughter. Now I find myself leaning over the edge of a well, speaking a wish and waiting to hear it echo back to me.

Without fairy tales, what are we? We’re a hopeless, lost, sad race of beings, I think. So, tonight, I’ll make a wish, and I’ll believe that the Dream Giver can make all my dreams come true.
