(Jul. 9, 2024) — In an appearance on the 7:00 a.m. hour of Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends,” RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump told co-host Ainsley Earhardt that 45th President and 2024 Republican presumptive nominee Donald J. Trump will soon be making his vice-presidential choice public and that “there will be a slot” for the designee to address the convention to take place next week in Milwaukee.
The nominating convention commences Sunday and runs through Thursday, July 18.
The segment begins at 26:11 here, during which Trump told Earhardt her father-in-law could provide some “hints” as to who his vice-presidential choice will be at a Doral, FL rally later today or at other times prior to the convention.
Trump’s nominee will be addressing the convention prior to Trump’s own speech upon accepting the nomination, Lara Trump said.
Trump enumerated energy independence, “safety,” and “American greatness” as among the themes of the convention in accordance with the public’s “concerns.”
Senior Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will be in attendance, Lara Trump confirmed. Rubio has been reported to be among a half-dozen or so top contenders for Trump’s vice president.
Other names in the mix are Ohio Sen. JD Vance; North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum; Trump’s HUD secretary and retired neurologist Dr. Ben Carson; South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott; New York Rep. Elise Stefanik and Florida Rep. Byron Donalds.
According to Donald Trump in an interview Monday night with Sean Hannity, his VP pick could be announced “during the convention.”
Trump will host another rally in Pennsylvania Saturday.
I hope that Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn (retired) is at the RNC event.
