(Jun. 26, 2024) — On Wednesday several news outlets reported comments made by 2024 Trump campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita claiming White House incumbent Joe Biden “will be filled with Adderall” for Thursday night’s presidential debate with former rival and president Donald J. Trump.

LaCivita made the remark during a “press call previewing the CNN showdown,” according to the New York Post.

Born in 1966, LaCivita is a U.S. Marine veteran of the Persian Gulf War and Purple Heart recipient. He became involved in Republican politics shortly after his military discharge, working as a legislative aide for then-Virginia Sen. George Allen. During the next decade, he served as a political consultant to numerous state- and federal-level candidates and entities, including the Swift Boat Veterans, whose purpose was to convince Americans not to cast their votes for 2004 Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry.

After RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel departed her post earlier this year, ushering in new leadership, LaCivita assumed the role of RNC Chief Operating Officer.

LaCivita is not the first to suggest Biden has been given or will be administered a drug to enhance his performance. In a May 19 interview on Maria Bartiromo’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Greg Murphy (R-NC3), who is also a medical doctor, said he had evidence Biden was “jacked up” in his March 7 State of the Union address, offering to “show” it to Bartiromo “offline.”

The day after Biden gave the annual address, The Washington Times reported the observations of California-based forensic psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman, who opined Biden “exhibited signs of stimulant use to mask cognitive decline in his amped-up, aggressive State of the Union speech on Thursday.”

In her “Dr. Carole’s Couch” broadcast on Tuesday, Lieberman clarified she has “never personally met Biden” but has been “studying him” since the 2020 election. “And at that time, actually, I was the first one to say on national media that I believe that he has ‘encroaching dementia,'” she said by way of introducing the topic.

While the diagnosis is not “formal,” Lieberman said, it signifies Biden’s dementia has “encroached evermore.”

In early February, a report released by then-Special Counsel Robert Hur indicated, drawing on two interviews with Biden, that Biden appears to be “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” referencing his difficulty in recalling such details as when he served as vice president and the year his son Beau passed away.

On Tuesday The Washington Post rushed to dispel LaCivita’s suggestion, with columnist Philip Bump publishing a column titled, “No, Biden Won’t Be on Performance-enhancing Drugs for the Debate.” The article begins:

Allies of Donald Trump have painted themselves into a cognitive corner. President Biden is unfit for office, they argue, because he is so old, and his mental abilities have deteriorated markedly. But then Biden will, say, deliver a State of the Union address in which he is energetic and pointed for more than an hour.

So they modify their claim: Biden is addled and wandering, except when he is given some sort of medication, perhaps a stimulant, that reverses that effect. And here we are, with Trump and those seeking his reelection to the White House demanding that Biden submit to some sort of drug test before this week’s first presidential debate, purportedly in effort to sniff out this theoretical drug.

Experts who spoke with The Washington Post, though, confirm that no such medicine exists.

Bump cited statements from two experts in Alzheimer’s disease and neuropsychology, respectively.

According to Drugs.com, “Adderall is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. Adderall contains a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. Amphetamine and dextroamphetamine are central nervous system stimulants that affect chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control.”

MedicalNewsToday.com reports, “Adderall is a controlled substance. This means that it can cause psychological or physical dependence and has the potential for misuse (also called abuse).”

The generic name for the drug, the website states, is “amphetamine/dextroamphetamine salts.”

According to WebMD, Adderall can result in such side effects as dry mouth, weakness, weight loss and an “unusual sense of well-being.”

The Cleveland Clinic reports that “amphetamines are a stimulant. Stimulants increase the activity of your central nervous system or the part of your brain that sends messages to nerves to tell them how to complete their jobs.”

On June 20, Biden ceased all public events to prepare for the debate, which airs Thursday on CNN beginning at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

For some time on his TruthSocial account, Trump has challenged Biden to submit to a “drug test” prior to the debate and said he would “immediately” agree to the same. At a Saturday rally in Philadelphia, Trump told the crowd he suspected Biden will be “all jacked up” when arriving on-stage Thursday.

A second debate is scheduled for September 10 to be hosted by ABC News.

Smart ! if Joe Biden’s campaign refuses a drug test for candidate Joe Biden before the debate then you know they are giving him some kind of drug stimulation !
