(Jun. 13, 2024) — In an interview with “Watters World” host Jesse Watters shortly after 8:00 p.m. EDT Thursday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL13) contended Joe Biden will “not be the nominee” for the Democrat presidential race culminating on November 5.
Her statement, she said, stems from what she has “been hearing” on Capitol Hill from her Democrat colleagues.
The suggestion that, despite his victory in the Democrat primaries, Biden will not be nominated as the party’s presidential candidate to presumptively face former President Donald J. Trump (R) has gained traction in recent weeks as Biden has appeared increasingly feeble, unintelligible and at times unaware of his surroundings.
Later in the program, Watters aired footage from earlier Thursday of Biden at the G7 summit in Puglia, Italy wandering away from a group of world leaders, seemingly confused, after a parachutist landed directly in front of the group gathered on the lawn of the San Domenico Golf Club.
According to the New York Post, “Biden then shuffled a few steps away from his fellow heads of government and appeared to say something to an officer packing a parachute,” after which Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni touched his arm, signaling a return to the group for a photo.
Biden’s vice president, Kamala Harris, plans to run for California governor should the Biden-Harris ticket fail to receive the nomination, Watters appeared to confirm with Luna.
The Democrat National Committee will hold its nominating convention August 19-22 in Chicago.
The first of two debates to which the Trump and Biden campaigns agreed is scheduled for June 27. The Biden campaign insisted the debate be televised without a live audience, preclude the participation of “third-party candidates,” and that “microphones should also only be turned on when it is a candidate’s time to speak.”
The debates will take place outside of those contemplated by the Commission on President Debates.
On June 5, former Secret Service agent and podcast host Dan Bongino emphatically told his audience in regard to Biden, “They want this guy out.”
