Spread the love

(Apr. 12, 2024) — There once was a carefree rooster,
Whose name was Chanticleer.

With head held high he presided,
O’er barnyard blithe and fair.

With pride he would crow each morning,
To call the sun to rise,

Convinced it was his own doing
Which brought light to the eyes.

Oh, Chanticleer, you little dear,
How is it you don’t know,

That only God can raise the sun,
And tell it where to go?

Along came some bright distractions,
That caused poor Chanticleer,

To awaken at the noon time,
And find the sun right there.

Our sweet friend, he learned the hard way,
As pride will force to do,

But he arose victorious,
And had his hope renewed.

He saw the beauty in being,
A servant of his God,

For he realized his crowing,
Was heralding what awed.

So we have here now our lesson:
Do not let pride deceive,

It’s honor to be a servant,
And bring folks to believe.
