Mostly Slimy Muck

(Jan. 25, 2024) — Who remembers when a certain nightly news broadcast ended with the words, “and that’s the way it is”?  Those words imparted a calming trust to the viewer that the news was being presented in a factual and unbiased manner.  Editorials were advertised as such and not secretly embedded in the “objective” presentation. The very tone of the man on television lacked emotion and was even-keeled to gain the trust that the news department was doing its job.  For those reading this article sporting at least one gray hair, this broadcaster was of course Walter Cronkite.  Mr. Cronkite earned his chops during World War II and he became the person that virtually everyone trusted for decades to inform us of world events.  In those days, there were only three networks, some radio and a handful of nationally-read newspapers to impart information.

Those days are long over and we are bombarded with Mostly Slimy Muck by the MSM, aka Mainstream Media.  Ole Joe (not the White House one) Stalin once said, ”Repeat a lie a thousand times and it becomes the Truth.”  The MSM agrees with Joe. Joseph Stalin would be able to land a job on MSNBC where DEI mandates the equitable hiring of deceased Communists.

Notable examples of the MSM spewing sewage as Biden’s mouthpiece are “Joe Biden is full of energy,” “The border is secure,” “Trump is worse than Hitler,” “Trump works for Putin,” “The Vaccine will prevent you from catching the China Virus,” “Bidenomics is working,” “White Supremacy,” “J6 was an Insurrection,” “There was no election interference,” “Hunter’s Russian Laptop.”  (Insert your own lie here).

The profit motive has replaced journalism as the main motive for as long as we have learned to click our mouses.  It would be enlightening if an old-school journalist could silently attend a modern journalism course at an institution like the Muckfest formerly known as Harvard. Their minds will be blown out in a car just like in the Beatles’ “A Day in the Life.” The philosophical intricacies of Dialectical Materialism and the Marxist incantation that there is no such thing as objectivity are nonsensical when the job is to report the news as truthfully as possible.  Journalism today is a joke.

The Smarmies at MSNBC and CNN are the worst offenders whereas the Fall of Fox survivors are a close second.  Soviet Show Trials in our Congress are alive with “The Sound of Repression” which promises to become next season’s hit movie.  Americans are being seduced by the MSM into a call for an Orwellian Two-Minute Hate just as Bread and Circuses pacified the population in the Roman Empire.

Luckily we have Muckrakers, in the spirit of Upton Sinclair, who practice journalism that uncovers the lies and deceit of the Muck Makers.  Mucking a stall doesn’t feel like particularly enticing work but sometimes it’s just necessary. Learn to question everything you hear or read.  Consider reading The Epoch Times over The New York Times, which has become a kissing cousin of Völkischer Beobachter or Pravda.

  1. I love it! Muckrakers is a new word to me. Where can we find 10 million dedicated souls to start raking?
