(Jan. 24, 2024) – 8:30 p.m. EST – Legal scholar, law clerk and writer Paul Ingrassia is interviewing with Roger Stone on his “TheStoneZONE” broadcast on Twitter on the subject of the U.S. Constitution’s Article II, Section 1, clause 5 presidential requirement of “natural born Citizen.”
Interviewing from a vehicle and wearing a headset, Ingrassia invoked Swiss jurist and scholar Emmerich de Vattel, author of “The Law of Nations,” which the Framers frequently referenced in the early years of the Republic, according to historical records.
Specifically referring to 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s candidacy, Ingrassia contended, as he has in recent Substack posts, that she is not a “natural born Citizen” given that her parents were not U.S. citizens when she was born in South Carolina in 1972.
At 8:39, fellow guest Troy Smith asked Ingrassia who might take action if Haley is in fact “ineligible” to the presidency.
“Anybody could challenge her eligibility” if involved in the political process, Ingrassia replied, including former president and leading 2024 Republican candidate Donald J. Trump. However, Ingrassia acknowledged that with civil and criminal hearings ongoing in four jurisdictions, Trump likely “has his hands full.”
At 8:42, Stone raised the question of former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who withdrew from the race following the Iowa caucus results in which he garnered approximately 8% support, endorsing and campaigning for Trump thereafter.
Stone stated he is not completely apprised of Ramaswamy’s birth circumstances, but according to the former candidate himself, neither of his parents naturalized prior to his birth in Cincinnati, OH, and only one naturalized afterward.
At 8:46, Stone invited Ingrassia on his Sunday WABC show, heard in the Tri-State area of New Jersey, Connecticut and New York, at WABCradio.com from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

“Anybody could challenge her eligibility” if involved in the political process, Ingrassia replied, including former president and leading 2024 Republican candidate Donald J. Trump.”
Many legal actions brought against Barack Obama were dismissed by judges who claimed the plaintiffs lacked “standing”. That is, they didn’t have anything substantial to lose if Obama was allowed to run for president. This pretty much means that an action brought against Nikki Haley needs to be brought by President Trump, or Joe Biden if Haley snagged the nomination next July.
The issue is somewhat academic at this point since Haley is highly unlikely to be the Republican candidate in November. More concerning now is Vivek Ramaswamy. He would like nothing better than to be Trump’s running mate. Hopefully, the president’s lawyers know by now that Ramaswamy too is constitutionally ineligible to be vice president.
Paul Ingrassia said “anybody” can file an eligibility challenge against Haley, but nobody has, not even Ingrassia.
I did. I apprised both Iowa and New Hampshire that Haley and Ramaswamy were not eligible. New Hampshire SOS told me that nothing could be done since Haley was already on the ballot.,making no mention of Ramaswamy.
Iowa never answered me at all.
There are dozens more primaries and caucuses. If a government agency fails to take action, as Ingrassia suggests, the next step is to file a lawsuit in court.
I didn’t know about Paul InGrassia being on the Stone show beforehand. So I missed part of it. I was notified about it while it was being aired and thus I managed to zoom over to X and catch the last 10-15 minutes of it. I also joined in on the conversation about nbC in the chat room. This is very good that finally some of the big conservative movers and shakers of the news in one of the closer circles who know Trump are putting Paul InGrassia on their shows. And imo Trump has signaled the nbC issue can be talked about and their fear of the name calling like “birther” and “racist” and the ridicule factor have little to no effect anymore with the American electorate, especially MAGA supporters. I would like to see Steve Bannon have Paul back on his podcast again and spend a good solid hour on the nbC issue. Then after getting Steve Bannon and his crew totally onboard for this constitutional fight, maybe get Dan Bongino on board too. As they say, “The worm is finaly turning.”
