Dear Editor,
In wishing everyone out there a very happy new year, this approaching 80-year-old bloke would like to pass on a few observations (with only a little “aged chauvinism” intended):
“It is all very well to have a very caring heart, but one only matched by an equally very careful head,” and,
“Go looking for trouble and trouble will find you, in half the time, and double the amount you expected,” and finally,
“Live your life in such a manner that you would not be ashamed to sell the family parrot…to the town gossip.”

Happy early birthday Howard. I turned 80 last August, and the days, weeks and months just keep passing by more quickly………
