It’s constant torture in a city
With trash knee-deep
And all the sirens and crime
Ending your sleep

That small-town appeal
Is egging me on
To make a brand new start of it
Beyond New York

To live a life that’s fair
And get to breathe fresh air
You have to flee

I want to exit from the city
That ended bail
And kept the thugs out of jail
Laid off the cops
Fired me for not
Getting the shot

That little town lure
