(Jul. 25, 2023) — Shortly after 3:30 p.m. EDT, Fox News’s “The Story” anchor Martha McCallum hosted Dr. Jeannette Nesheiwat to discuss the cardiac arrest suffered by “Bronny” James, the 18-year-old son of professional basketball player LeBron James, while playing basketball himself on Monday morning.
The topic trended on Twitter, now known as “X,” a substantial part of Tuesday.
As background, McCallum quickly recapped with video football player Damar Hamlin‘s collapse “at only 24” in January caused by a cardiac event which landed him in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in an Ohio hospital for several days.
Happily, MacCallum added, Hamlin has been “cleared” to return to professional football for the upcoming fall season.
James is out of the ICU, McCallum reported. Fortunately, Nishiewat responded, he received immediate medical intervention. The occurrence of young athletes suffering cardiac arrest during workouts is “rare,” she said, at approximately “7,000” annually.
She mentioned at least three possible medical causes of James’s cardiac arrest. There was no mention of the COVID-19 vaccines until McCallum asked Nishiewat, “Is it true that we’ve seen more of this than before the vaccine?”
Nishiewat agreed that the COVID vaccines cannot be ruled out as a possible cause, then urged anyone with chest pain or other cardiac symptoms to have “regular checkups” with their physicians.
On “X” Tuesday, some observers posted video from hearings held by U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) between late 2020 and January 2022 after he received reports of serious injury and adverse events from individuals who received COVID-19 vaccines as well as warnings from physicians that the hastily-tested vaccine products were not “safe and effective,” as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has claimed.

During the broadcast MacCallum observed that billionaire entrepreneur and “X” owner Elon Musk remarked in response to James’s medical emergency, “We cannot ascribe everything to the vaccine, but, by the same token, we cannot ascribe nothing.”
“Myocarditis is a known side-effect,” Musk continued. “The only question is whether it is rare or common.”

Musk’s “tweet” was not lost on The New York Post.

“LeBron James has said in the past that his family has been vaccinated against COVID,” the paper reported early Tuesday afternoon, adding, “There is no evidence linking his son’s cardiac arrest to the vaccine.”
According to Canadian physician/oncologist Dr. William Makis, “Early morning adrenaline surge PLUS exercise VASTLY increases risk of COVID-19 vaccine induced myocarditis, sudden arrhythmia and sudden cardiac arrest!”

Cardiologist, epidemiologist and academic researcher Dr. Peter A. McCullough weighed in with, “Young men this age are the highest risk for fatal #CovidVaccine induced myocarditis. Should pull all #CovidVaccines off the market…,” including a link and screenshot of a paper uploaded to preprints.org in which he is one of five authors and Makis another.

A medical “preprint” is a research paper which has not undergone “peer review.”
As of July 13, 2023, as to possible side effects from the vaccines, the CDC stated, “The benefits of COVID-19 vaccination continue to outweigh any potential risks.” The page continues to post a link to another maintaining the “safe and effective” mantra which has characterized the COVID-19 pandemic response.
Under “Reports of Deaths after COVID-19 Vaccination,” the CDC states:
Multiple factors contribute to reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination, including heightened public awareness of COVID-19 vaccines, requirements under FDA authorization for COVID-19 vaccines that healthcare providers report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS (even if it is unclear whether the vaccine was the cause), and reporting requirements in CDC vaccine provider agreements. People receiving COVID-19 vaccines are less likely to die from COVID-19 and its complications and are at no greater risk of death from non-COVID causes, than unvaccinated people.
CDC scientists and partners have performed detailed assessments of deaths after COVID-19 vaccination and made the information available to healthcare providers and the public.
It also presents a link to four studies, all of which reached conclusions favorable to the vaccines.
