Spread the love

(Jul. 22, 2023) — One soft, summer night, a beautiful elven creature quietly entered the royal nursery of the palace, while the king and queen slept soundly in their bedchamber nearby.

Eldora, the elven lady, smiled down at the infant princess, asleep as if on a cloud. Suddenly, a string of fairies silently circled ’round the child’s head, illuminating the darkness with golden dust. The baby stirred her tiny head full of dark hair before opening her large, blue-grey eyes to the vision before her.

In a tiny voice she exclaimed, with an excited coo, “Eldora, I’m so glad you’re here! You must help me. Since you brought me here, I have tried my best to communicate, but no one understands my language.”

Eldora gently scooped up the infant and inquired as to what she’d like to say. “I want to tell my mommy,” the little one began, “that she makes me so happy, and I hope we’ll be best friends! I hope I’ll be just like her, in kindness and in fun, when I am grown up.

“And, then, I want to tell my Daddy just how handsome I think he is! I could look at him for hours (if I knew what an hour was). I just adore his voice and touch! I know Mommy and I are safe when he’s with us!”

Eldora smiled as she tucked the infant back into her bassinet. “Well, now, you need no voice to tell them all of that. As time goes by, they’ll learn to understand what you’re trying to say. Your mommy will see the light in your eyes and hear your excited, interested coos as she talks and plays with you. Then she’ll understand that you’re best friends who can share each other’s hopes and dreams and plans.

“In time, your daddy will see you looking at him longingly from across the room. He’ll see your tiny hand reaching for him, and he’ll feel an invisible string pulling at his heart as it wraps around your little finger.

“But don’t forget, their words are strange to you as well. So, listen to them through their eyes, their hands, their arms and the tones of their voices. Soon enough you’ll all speak the same language, but, always remember, the language of love needs no words.”
