(Jun. 13, 2023) — 3:08 p.m. EDT – CBS News has reported that 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump has been “processed,” otherwise known as “booked,” at the federal courthouse in Miami, FL as a result of a 37-count indictment brought by the Justice Department for Trump’s alleged mishandling of “classified” documents after he left office.
Cameras are not permitted in federal courthouses, hence CBS reporter Scott MacFarland gave his eyewitness account as to how the event unfolded.
Through one of his attorneys, Trump, who was wearing a dark suit and classic red tie, entered a plea of “not guilty” and sat at quietly a table “with his hands folded,” MacFarland reported.
RSBN will broadcast live from Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, NJ Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. EDT, when he is expected to speak on his court experience.
After CBS commentators appeared to believe Trump is guilty based on their remarks as the event unfolded invisibly, anchor Norah O’Donnell interviewed Rep. Nancy Mace, who Trump did not endorse for re-election in 2022 but argued Trump is being treated differently than Hillary Clinton after it was discovered she used a private, unsecured email server during her tenure where classified materials were found. O’Donnell was notably argumentative, particularly after Mace claimed Trump is being subjected to a “shameful” spectacle.
As Mace was answering O’Donnell’s question about the locations at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort where the Justice Department allegedly found boxes of classified documents, O’Donnell curtly ended the interview with an apology for audio issues Mace reported. She and her colleagues then said Mace had given a “misrepresentation” of whether the FBI had had access to the boxes of documents.
The CBS cadre went on to say that Trump’s case is not comparable to that of Joe Biden, who has also been accused of mishandling classified documents and is reportedly under investigation.
“The FBI was just doing its job,” a pundit said, claiming he had “talked to sources…who insist that they did not want to be here this day where a former president was indicted…”
Because Trump did not “turn over” the requested documents for many months, he said, “that’s why we are where we are today.”
RSBN covered the arraignment as well, stating at 3:32 p.m. that Trump used neither the “front door” nor the “back door” to the courthouse to enter.
At 3:33, the RSBN reporter said she was “hearing that they’re going to wrap it up.” The outlet’s cameras showed detractors holding obscene signs as well as supporters standing outside peacefully waving “Trump 2024,” American or white and blue “Stand with Trump” flags.
“There was no bond required,” the reporter said, confirming Trump will speak this evening “in New Jersey.”
