Uncrossing the Rubicon

(Apr. 3, 2023) — The history of Rome is a warning to us Americans, whose perception of daily life is that one day is the same as the last, in an unending chain of days.  That is mostly true until it isn’t.  Look at Rome. Around 753 BC, early Rome started as a monarchy in a similar fashion that our original thirteen American colonies were founded and governed by a British monarch.  In 509 BC, that monarchy was overthrown and an early Republic was formed.  Sound familiar?  Hundreds of years ensued with the establishment of law, property rights and increased freedom of the common people called Plebeians… and costly military adventures.  Chaos slowly engulfed the Late Republic due to partisan fighting, pettiness, overtaxation, jealousy and money.  Julius Caesar and his legion illegally crossed the Rubicon River against Rome in 49 BC sparking a Civil War where Caesar was eventually crowned Emperor for Life in 45 BC.  Rome became a tyrannical one-party empire whose eventual destruction was now guaranteed.  Still ring a bell?

America, at least the America you think you know, no longer exists.  The Democrat Party crossed the Rubicon in its indictment of a presidential candidate for purely political persecution. This has never happened in American history.  One might argue that this is just about Donald Trump and is no big deal one way or the other.  You are wrong.  At best, a political civil war has just been sparked and hopefully not a hot one.  A precedent has been set and ingrained that it is okay to attack the person regardless of the ideals of a person.  American jurisprudence has been upended.  Pelosi even said that “Trump can now prove his innocence.”  When did we become the Soviet Union? Trump’s indictment is merely the opening salvo.  America is about to go to war with itself…with China salivating on the sidelines.

The election of Donald Trump in 2024 is America’s only hope to save the ship that is listing and rapidly taking on water.  As a citizen, you must put aside any animus you might hold towards Trump and work to defeat the infection of political persecution which is a most UnAmerican ideal.  Many love DeSantis including this author, but it is not his time because of the actions of the Democrat Party.  Republicans must focus to fight a unified Democrat Party.

What can you do?  Start working at the local level.  Become a PC.  Become a State PC.  Tell the AZGOP that you oppose political persecution.  Educate your Democrat friends that the party they joined long ago no longer exists. You have the power to stop local infighting within our Republican ranks as the Democrats are simultaneously laughing and smacking their chops to defeat us and lick our bones.  Get involved!

We are now living in a post-Constitutional America. Help us uncross the Rubicon and restore our Constitutional Republic.  As “Presidentish” Joe Biden blathers, “Not a joke.”

Liked the image – Caesar crossing the Rubicon. I fear, however, that the Liberal Marxist vanguard long ago crossed that river.
Recall Dan Rather and his false reporting on George W. Bush, the fabricated documents used to defend the political hit piece. When the truth came out, a liberal friend defended Rather by shrugging and saying, “Well, it’s just George Bush.”
The Democratic Party is full of those sorts; full of recrimination, deceit and denial. That is how they do business. Rathergate (2004) was to journalism what the bogus Trump indictiment is to due process, except that Alvin Bragg won’t be making a living as a blogger.
