Spread the love

(Mar. 25, 2023) — One little raindrop joined his brothers and sisters on their descent to earth. He was certain that no other raindrop had been more miserable than he. The drop had grown so tired of his existence, with seemingly nothing to show for it. “What’s the point,” he mused aloud, “We fall to the ground just to be caught back up to the sky, only to come back down and do it all over again! We’re just going around in a circle. The only thing interesting is that we take on various forms in the process.”

An older, wiser raindrop nearby heard the complaint and smiled, “But you don’t realize, today is going to be different. Today you are going to see the results of your seemingly mundane routine.”

Just then, the little drop noticed something new as he drew near the earth. He was not with as many of his brothers and sisters as he had been before. The gray clouds were parting. The sun was peeking through, shedding light upon the spreading vista below. He saw bright, vivid colors he had never seen before of various flora and fauna on a previously barren landscape. “Where did all this come from?” the little raindrop inquired.

The elder drop replied, “Why, it came from you! Every day you stayed faithful to doing that for which you were created. These things you see now were being knit together, deep where you could not see. You lived every day by faith, and today is the day you get to see the fruitful results!”

The little raindrop smiled as he fell into beams of sunlight, then gazed in awe at the rainbow of colors that suddenly arched before him.
