(Jan. 8, 2023) — Shortly before 3:00 p.m. EST/2:00 p.m. CST, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted an image of a letter he reported having “hand-delivered” to Joe Biden on the occasion of his first visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, where millions of illegal aliens have crossed into the United States unfettered by Biden’s non-enforcement of immigration law over the last two years.

“Hand-delivered a letter to President Biden today during his first visit to the border,” Abbott wrote. “His trip is $20 billion too little & 2 years too late. I’m calling on Biden to do his constitutional duty to protect our nation.”

The Biden regime recently announced Biden’s scheduled stop Sunday in El Paso while en route to a three-nation summit in Mexico City this coming week. Over the last two days, El Paso underwent a “dismantling” of “migrant camps” in the streets and a removal of “hundreds of migrants” to the Mexico side of the border, The New York Post reported.

As a guest on “Sunday Morning Futures” earlier, Abbott related to host Maria Bartiromo that he received no invitation from the Biden regime to meet with Biden at the border and his view that Biden is “not stepping up and doing what he needs to do…he’s not fulfilling his job as commander-in-chief.”

He did, however, receive an 11th-hour email asking him to meet Biden “on the tarmac,” Abbott told Bartiromo at 1:26.

Unbeknownst to viewers at the time, Abbott provided a preview of a five-point list of items Biden “must” enact. Re-elected to a third term in November, Abbott told Biden the “chaos” at the border “is the direct result of your failure to enforce the immigration laws that Congress enacted.”

“Under President Trump, the federal government achieved historically low levels of illegal immigration,” Abbott further wrote. “Under your watch, by contrast, America is suffering the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country. Your open-border policies have emboldened the cartels, who grow wealthy by trafficking deadly fentanyl and even human beings. Texans are paying an especially high price for your failure, sometimes with their very lives, as local leaders from your own party will tell you if given the chance.”

“When you finish the photo-ops in a carefully stage-managed version of El Paso, you have a job to do,” Abbott continued, presenting the five demands and a final plea to “secure our border by enforcing Congress’s immigration laws.”
