(Nov, 18, 2022) — No doubt in response to Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of a “special counsel” to “complete” investigations into 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump, Trump announced he will make a statement at 8:30 PM EST Friday from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, FL.

In early August, Mar-a-Lago was the scene of an FBI raid ostensibly to collect “classified” documents the Justice Department claimed Trump improperly took when he left the White House on January 20, 2021 and refused to return.

Garland outlined the two investigations former Justice Department prosecutor Jack Smith will undertake. “The first, as described in court filings in the District of Columbia, is the investigation into whether any person or entity unlawfully interfered with the transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election or the certification of the Electoral College vote held on or about January 6, 2021,” Garland said at a press conference. “The second is the ongoing investigation involving classified documents and other presidential records, as well as the possible obstruction of that investigation, referenced and described in court filings in a pending matter in the southern district of Florida.”

Smith has been presiding over hearings in The Hague regarding “war crimes in Kosovo.”

Last year a “Select Committee” of seven Democrats and two Republicans, both of whom will leave Congress in early January, was formed to investigate the circumstances leading up to the January 6, 2021 “attack on the United States Capitol” which the committee members accused Trump of inciting when he spoke at a rally that day at the Washington, DC Ellipse, claiming massive fraud denied him re-election and urging supporters to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard” as Congress commenced the counting of the electoral votes.

Later that afternoon a riot erupted wherein an unarmed Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbitt, was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer and Roseann Boyland died outside the Capitol. Some reports say she was trampled to death, while others say a Capitol Police officer contributed to her death by “continu(ing) to push protesters on top of her.”

After months of public hearings coordinated by a former ABC News executive for public consumption, the committee made no criminal referrals to the Justice Department but recently subpoenaed Trump to testify. In response, Trump filed a lawsuit naming committee members as well as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in which he claimed as a former president, he is exempt from any obligation to testify.

Trump claimed he “declassified” all the documents which were stored in a secured room at Mar-a-Lago with the knowledge of the FBI, Justice Department and Secret Service. As details about the seizure of the materials unfolded, Trump’s accusation that the FBI took medical files and passports was acknowledged by the FBI and the passports returned.

On Tuesday from Mar-a-Lago, Trump announced that earlier that day he filed documents to run for president in 2024, a development he had strongly suggested would transpire amid public speculation it would occur after the midterm elections.

“Here we go again!” Trump posted Friday evening on his TruthSocial platform. “I thought that the Unselect Committee on January 6th was a dead issue, especially with the record setting loss off Liz Chaney in the Great State of Wyoming, and likewise felt that the document hoax case, after reviewing the Clinton Socks Case & the Presidential Record Act, was dead, or at least dying fast. The Democrat Department of “Justice” had nothing, except Trump haters, so they just appointed a Special Prosecutor to go after me further. Disgraceful!”

A “special counsel” appointed by then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein during Trump’s term made no criminal referral following a 22-month probe into allegations that Trump’s 2016 campaign “colluded” with the Russian government, and thus far investigations into the Trump Organization have yielded no criminal charges against Trump or his three elder children, who now run the company.

Just after his first post on Friday, Trump announced, “I’ll be making a statement on the never ending Witch Hunt tonight at Mar-a-Lago, 8:30 P.M. Thank you!”

In an uncharacteristically animated press conference the day after the November 8 elections, White House occupant Joe Biden told a reporter in response to a question that he intended to see that Trump is not elected again but which does not appear in the official White House transcript.
