Dear Editor,
No doubt about those “Princes & Princesses of Political Correctness” (all those woke-folk) at the AFL!
Instead of having merely the 2022 Sir Doug Nicholls Round (and Doug Nicholls, who taught me in Christian religious instruction, was certainly no “mere” man), the go-for-woke, broke AFL should have correctly recognised the very great Aboriginal (no shame in that!) Australian Christian with the 2022 “Pastor Sir Doug Nicholls” Round!
And before you get off your PC high horses out there over Christianity being raised regarding Aboriginal Australians, never forget the anguish of outback Aboriginal Jimmy Darcy’s terrible lingering death was one of the reasons another great Australian Christian, the Rev John Flynn (“Flynn of the Inland”), pioneered the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which great service has undoubtably saved – relative to population – as many (if not more) blackfella as whitefella lives!
