(May 13, 2021) — Perhaps the most devastating order a soldier or sailor can receive is the ‘RESTRICTED TO BASE’ one; why, that’s the same as a prison sentence. Imagine everything that you’re fighting for is ‘OFF-LIMITS.’
Imagine being a lifelong baseball fan and told never to attend a baseball game in person.
You love the symphony but are not allowed to attend a concert.
You love the movies but are not allowed to watch one.
You love to read books but are not allowed to set foot in a library.
You love art but are restricted from ever entering an art gallery.
You love your country and even volunteered to serve in the armed forces, willing to put your life on the line, but are prevented from living in it.
Forget blaming others for “workplace violence”; let’s blame the people responsible: the Joint Chiefs of Staff and their protégés, such as MG J P McGee of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
