(Apr. 23, 2021) — On Friday evening, a statement apparently sent by the office of 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump appeared on the social-media platform Gab.com predicting that the audit of the November 3, 2020 election launched in Maricopa County, AZ earlier Friday will yield evidence of voter fraud.
Since its launch last month, the website “45office.com” has issued Trump’s statements on current policy issues, often in response to decisions White House occupant Joe Biden has announced such as the planned withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by September 11.
The post-presidential office seeks to “inform, educate, and inspire Americans from all walks of life as we seek to build a truly great American Future,” the website states. “Through this office, President Trump will remain a tireless champion for the hardworking men and women of our great country – and for their right to live in safety, dignity, prosperity, and peace.”
Trump’s Gab page states that it is “Reserved for the 45th President of the United States of America This account is an uncensored Twitter archive and shares email statements sent by The Office of Donald J. Trump.” [sic]
Since November 4, Trump and his campaign’s legal team asserted that he won re-election, citing multiple methods and instances of fraud, allegations of observers having been barred from polling places on Election Day, and the introduction into voting machines of ballots reportedly hidden under tables until the polling place at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena officially closed for the evening late on November 3.
As of this writing, Trump’s statement on the Maricopa County audit does not appear on his official “News” page.
As expounded upon here on April 15, the long-sought-after Maricopa audit was opposed earlier this month by a cadre of law firms and a Democrat advocacy group contending that the endeavor amounted to “voter intimidation” and possible violations of state and federal law. Characterized as a “demand letter,” the firms, which include Perkins Coie of Steele-dossier and Obama birth-certificate fame, state in a letter to the four organizations hired by the State Senate that “…should you proceed with your current proposed Statement of Work or engage in any other conduct that intimidates Arizona voters, your companies may be named as defendants in federal civil rights lawsuits, thereby exposing you to money damages…”
Prior to that, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, which consists of four Republicans and one Democrat, asked a judge to declare subpoenas issued by members of the Arizona State Senate for the voting equipment and paper ballots used on November 3 unlawful.
According to the Arizona Capitol Times on Thursday, following the election, in which Biden was declared the winner of Arizona’s 11 electoral votes by under 11,000 ballots, “Maricopa County supervisors defended the final numbers, pointing out they had conducted required accuracy checks on machines both before and after the vote. There also was a legally mandated hand count of a random sample of ballots that county officials said matched the machine results 100%.”
Some Republicans in the state’s upper legislative chamber remained unconvinced, however, issuing the subpoenas in mid-December and again after the 2021 session convened, after which a judge ruled in the senate’s favor regarding the legitimacy of its subpoenas.
On Thursday, the Arizona Democratic Party sued in a last-minute attempt to stop the audit, to which a judge acceded with the stipulation that the plaintiffs fund a $1 million bond to cover expenses incurred by the auditors as a result of the temporary pause. The Democrats declined, multiple sources reported.
Early Friday evening, Gab posted a two-paragraph statement from Trump in which he asked, “Why are the Democrats so desperate to stop this Election Fraud from being revealed? That answer is obvious!…Our country needs the truth of the scam 2020 Election to be exposed…Thank you State Senators and others in Arizona for commencing this full forensic audit. I predict the results will be startling!” [sic]
Approximately two hours later, Trump issued a follow-up statement:
The Democrats are “swarming” the Great State of Arizona trying to get the Forensic Election Audit stopped, because only they know exactly what they’ve done, and they understand Voter Fraud far better than anyone. This could be Voter Fraud at the highest level. Don’t think that Arizona is the only State. Much more to come!
