“A JOURNALISTIC EMBARRASSMENT”
by Joseph DeMaio, ©2020
(Oct. 27, 2020) — Your faithful servant has in the past ridiculed various left-wing publications with sarcastic alias titles. The “New York Times” has variously been renamed “The New York Slimes,” “Pravda on the Hudson” and, more recently, “The Gray Trollop.” (“TGT”). The motto of TGT since its founding has been “All the news that’s fit to print.” No more. In an earlier time, TGT was known as the “Paper of Record.” No longer. Farther down the Atlantic coast, The Washington Post has on occasion been called “The Washington Pest,” with its motto – “Democracy Dies in Darkness” – morphed into “Tyranny Thrives in Darkness.”
We are now at a point in time when the future trajectory of the nation – if this collection of hyper-polarized Americans can still be called a “nation” – is literally at stake. And the dinosaur-legacy Fourth Estate has in no small measure not only contributed to the erosion of the term “united” in the name of this country, it has actively promoted it in the era of “Orange Man Bad.”
It is no secret that your servant prefers President Trump over Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Devi Harris. Quite apart from the growing mountain – not unlike a dormant, but far from dead, volcano – of empirical evidence that Ms. Harris is constitutionally ineligible to be Vice-President, the growing mountain of evidence of Joe Biden’s deceit, corruption and mendacity now documented on a laptop computer once belonging to his son, Hunter Biden, should establish beyond any “smidgen” of doubt that he is unfit for the office he seeks.
As noted in the prior link, the proof mounts daily – and sometimes hourly – that Mr. Biden lacks even a “smidgen of integrity.” Much like his thinning hair plugs, his continued prancing on the public stage grows embarrassing. But the mainstream media – including in particular The WaPo – has become a similar journalistic embarrassment by continuing to run cover for a person who unquestionably should not become president, all legitimate criticisms of President Trump aside.
Make no mistake, if Joe Biden is correct that the Democrats have “put together the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics…,” the Biden-Harris ticket could still win next week.
That video clip, assuming its authenticity, proves one or the other of two, and only two, things: (a) the treachery of the Democrats is far more widespread than generally acknowledged, or (b) once more, Joe Biden is seriously cognitively impaired. But hey, is not extensive and organized voter fraud the natural product of political desperation? C’mon, man!
With less than a week to go until the 2020 general election day, here is a memo to the Editorial Board of The WaPo: your masthead banner claims that “democracy dies in darkness.” Guess what: censorship of the truth is darkness; marginalizing of the truth is darkness; normalizing hypocrisy is darkness; shielding treachery is darkness; propaganda is darkness; the promotion and propagation of falsehoods is darkness.
Given that The WaPo has committed in the past, and with particular relevance to President Trump, each and all of the foregoing journalistic perfidies, here is a modest suggestion: it should either (a) change its ways and return to principled, objective journalism instead of Goebbels-like propaganda masquerading as truth; or (b) change its masthead to more accurately describe its product… false advertising is bad.
