Dear Editor,

My late foundry-man Dad often said: “To be clever is not necessarily to be wise!”

Obviously, the “high-profile Aussie” geniuses coming up with that new “AU” in the middle of a large splattered who-knows-what for our new “Made in Australia” logo (the original – so easily internationally recognised! – wattle, gold-coloured kangaroo, hopping along on a green background, was too “old-hat” for Australia’s “too clever by half” new-age marketing gurus?) never studied geography/have ignored many international applications of “AU” as an abbreviation, etc. for Austria; and have never met/consulted a bloke as savvy/smart as my late Dad?
