(Jun. 13, 2020) — “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to ‘The Pulse of the Nation,’ the place to hear it here first. This is your Roving Reporter (RR) at the house of a Democratic Strategist who called to say he has an important announcement. You have the floor, Sir.”

“Thank you, Roving. Would it be okay if I gave a shout-out to my mother?”

“No, I’m sorry, but it’s not allowed. Just say what you were going to say.”

“Well, I wanted to say, ‘Hi, Mom’ while waving — you know, make the show have a little bit of warmth.”

“You don’t sound like a Dem.”

“I’m not a Dem; I’m just a ‘Democratic Strategist.’ I mean, really, now, you have no cause to insult me on live TV.”

“Yes, I do; I mean, what gives?”

“The money was too good to turn down, that’s why. You wouldn’t believe how much the mainstream media pays for people like me.”

“You mean people like you who have no problem selling America down the tubes.”

“That was a lousy pun, Roving.”

“You went to college to be a turncoat?”

“Yes, matter of fact I did. I have a Political Science degree from one of our overpriced Ivy League schools that I’m still paying off.”

“Good for you. Just make your statement, please, and enough of this chitchat after we take a commercial break.”

“Take it away.”

“Very well. May I have your attention, please? We have just come up with a winner on who our country’s most inept, stupid and foolish mayor is, and I must tell you it was a close race, right down to the wire, with the lead changing hands quite often, but a clear winner has emerged. Actually we have multiple runner-ups – second-place finishers – that, by themselves, could have won the coveted prize of being the most foolish.”

“Tell us their names, or, better yet, the cities which were in the running.”

“Minneapolis, Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, Cleveland, New York.”

“Okay, stop. Golly, but how many runner-ups do you have?”

“Believe it or not, 80.”

“Who won?”

“Seattle, hands-down. But it so happens that, for the first time, it is a shared award: the Governor of Washington is included, with an honorable mention going to District Court Judge Richard A. Jones for his ruling disallowing the police to use tear gas and other chemicals for crowd control.”

“You’re kidding.”

“I am not kidding.”

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (from official website)

“So Mayor Jenny A. Durkan of Seattle and Governor Jay Inslee won this year’s ‘Most Foolish Award Ever?’”

“Yes, isn’t it wonderful? I say congratulations are in order.”

“Most assuredly.”

“So if those two are acting this way in this crisis, what can we expect if, for instance, Mt. Rainier blew its top and there was a really bad disaster?”

“Incompetence at the highest level, which is a shared trait with all Democrat mayors and governors, by the way. They lack whatever it takes to take control; it’s a shared trait: no backbone; no respect for law and order; no homage to the Constitution.”

“Well, at least you’re honest. Okay, that’ll do it since we’ve just run out of time and so, on behalf of the crew, I’ll be wishing you all a goodnight: Goodnight.

“Good show. Burger time: my treat.”

She’s Just My Style” (3:15)
