“BROTHERS-IN-ARMS”

May 16, 2020

Dear Editor,

General Sir John Monash (public domain)

During the 2020 U.S. 4th of July, Independence Day, celebrations, Donald Trump will almost certainly celebrate his confirmation of Australia’s vital role in producing parts for America’s revolutionary F-35 warplane, and his influencing of America’s allies to buy Australian goods and services)!

For all his enigmatic, cavalier ways, U.S. President Donald Trump treasures “freedom” and thus reveres the only true U.S. military ally, Australia, which fought shoulder-to-shoulder alongside America’s freedom-protecting military servicemen and women in every major 20th- and 21st-century war (including Democrat-betrayed Vietnam!).

And on Independence Day 2020, Donald Trump will not forget to remind Americans (and the world) that 102 years ago in 1918, under the brilliant command of Australian General Sir John Monash, Australians and Americans – as “brothers-in-arms” for the first time, fought and won the Battle of Hamel in France on the 4th of July!

And also because – to play our part in helping America protect world-freedom! – Australia is buying 75 American F-35 warplanes!

Yours,

Howard Hutchins
