“A STAIN ON OUR LEGAL SYSTEM”

May 3, 2020

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

Today’s generals are NOT like “Halftrack”  — the one in the Beetle Bailey cartoon.  Real generals EARN their stars by rising above the competition among a corps of very well-qualified officers.  Lt. General Flynn was a brilliant general and hero and rose to head the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) during Obama’s presidency.  He was (is) apolitical and puts America and its interests first.

As DIA head he had a good look at the pros and cons of our alliances and the strengths and weaknesses of friendly regimes and of those who would harm us.  In that context, General Flynn understood the dangers posed by the Mullahs in Iran and their surrogates (Hizballah, Al Quds, et al). He also understood quite well that the IED’s which blew away the limbs of our soldiers, Marines, and airmen were made in Iran.  As a head of a key national intelligence agency, Flynn saw no upside to an Iran Nuclear Deal that included paying them pallet-loads of money (billions in US currency), trade deals, access to banking institutions, and a guarantee of unfettered progress to nuclear weaponry after ten short years – the mere blink of an eyelid – in history. In exchange for what?

He didn’t buy the foolish drivel that by virtue of the “deal” the Mullahs would, somehow, contrary to their strongly-held (and murderous) religious beliefs, moderate them and no longer threaten us or our allies.  That somehow, in the future, the Mullahs would no longer summon rent-a-mobs to carry banners through the streets and shout “Death to the Great Satan,” “Death to Israel.” Sure, Mullahs with nukes would become nice guys who love their neighbors and would even make nice with Israel.

Perhaps he wondered, as I do, if the “deal” weren’t simply a “promise fulfilled” to Obama’s long-time aide and confidante Valerie Jarrett, who was born in Iran, is Muslim, and whose parents still reside in Teheran with the Mullahs?

In any case, Lt. General Flynn was no fan of the “deal” and saw no upside for our United States and us citizens, nor would he sit by and let the Mullahs pursue unfettered access to nuclear weapons in the “blink of an eye” of history.  And therefore, Lt. General Flynn had to be removed to save — save what?  To save this shoddy, anti-American, “agreement” because it was popular with our European “allies” who welcomed it because it opened “markets?”

Thus, Flynn had to go!  The Deep State made it clear.  Patriotism and valor and love of country be damned, we have to save the legacy – the “major foreign policy ‘success”’ of the Obama years.  The deal that ranked above the “Arab Spring” that brought chaos to North Africa and gave us “Benghazi.”

General Flynn was set up.  He was forced to spend his life savings and even lose title to his home to pay legal fees to defend his good name and the unjust and damning assaults on his character.  So, he cut a plea deal to stop the bleeding and to protect his own son, who the same, false prosecution threatened to target if he didn’t cave.   The false prosecution by the Obama holdovers in the Deep State is a stain on our legal system and must be corrected.  The case should be thrown out of court and to make matters right, General Flynn should be compensated for his losses as restitution for this travesty of blatant, prosecutorial malfeasance.

And the President should continue to drain the swamp in Washington.

Old Frank

  1. All of that better happen because anything less would effectively render the U.S. Constitution null and void, and thereby America a police state.

    – The FBI interviewed Flynn at the White House in violation of legacy White House protocol – fired FBI Director Comey himself has said as much.

    – The FBI interviewed Flynn at the White House with the intent to “get him” — FBI agents/lovers Strzok and Page have said as much.

    – Flynn did not lie to the FBI interviewers — the FBI interviewers have said as much.

    – The FBI investigators wanted to end the case because they had nothing but admitted Trump hater Strzok kept it going.

    – The FBI withheld exculpatory evidence from the court — recently obtained FBI documents, emails and notes prove it.

    – Flynn plead guilty under duress — Special Prosecutor Mueller threatened to investigate Flynn’s son and family if Flynn didn’t plead guilty to violating the Logan Act.

    – Former Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry and (P)resident Barack Obama violated the Logan Act, Kerry twice, but were not prosecuted.

No doubt Flynn’s attorney could add to the above.

P.S.: Thank you Sharron for the new “Edit” feature!

  2. After the DOJ drops the case, and while Trump may restore Flynn to a credible and face-saving position within the White House, I seriously doubt his financial losses will be restored to him. An act of Congress, perhaps, but the House is a coven of Progressive authoritarians with no interest in law, Constitution, honor, integrity. Only power. This unprecedented abuse of power and outright sedition and lawlessness will has reached its apex. Sadly, going forward it will be anything but unprecedented. Since Lincoln’s War, massive corruption has raged in DC and most state capitals. So, what can we do about it? Not a lot, I’m afraid. The foundational damage to our federal system and the rule of law have been so profoundly destructive, Humpty Dumpty’s choices are limited to a re-ordering of our union, this to decentralize federal powers and to stem the corruption in a runaway DC or peaceful secession. I can think of worse things. Like the self-destruction of the country, our institutions, traditions and way of life. I say let’s start drawing the lines now. We must face the awful truth that the socio-ideological divide in this country has become unbridgeable and can only lead to turmoil and a furthering weakening of our constitutional principles. Union at ANY price is folly. And, no, folks. Secession is NOT rebellion. Remember that the founders created a VOLUNTARY union of States.

  3. None of that is going to happen. Flynn has plead guilty, it will not be rescinded and he will be sentenced.

Only a pardon can save him from prison. But accepting it is an admission of guilt.

  4. In addition to General Flynn’s case which in itself is tragic and unwarranted, hopefully he’ll
get some justice and have his life restored as much as possible.

In reading this article I recalled a parallel incident that Obama purged some 200 high ranking
officers, most of them being generals. Has this ever happened before? Why did this happen? Where was the Main Stream Media? What was the justification for this? Has this volume of dismissals ever occurred before?

Does Trump know of this? What if Trump would give all these 200 Generals pardons too.
Don’t they deserve a pardon too? Perhaps The P&E would consider doing a story item on
    this item.
