STUDY SUGGESTIONS AND TEST PREPARATION
by Contributor

(Mar. 28, 2020) — The National Eligibility Entrance Test or NEET was going to be held in 2020 on May 3rd but has been postponed. So, it is only a few months away for aspirants to get ready and go through every section’s syllabus. If you are an aspirant yourself then this article will help you with the details of your syllabus. It is not easy to complete all three sections, but it is not impossible.
The three sections of this exam are Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. Among these three, Biology has a wide and lengthy syllabus to go through. Thus, to help students with the lengthy syllabus, the weightage percentage helps a lot.
Physics: According to most of the students, Physics is the toughest section. Also, aspiring students who are preparing for the upcoming exam tend to avoid this section until the last moment as the formulas are very tough to crack. That is why it is ideal that you hold on to the numerically-based questions that hold more numbers.
Biology: Because Botany and Zoology are included in this section, this syllabus is very lengthy and complex. There will be 90 questions from this section; hence most of the marks will be coming from here. So, it is ideal that you prepare extra hard for Biology.
Chemistry: Chemistry is all about mixing and solutions of chemicals. Therefore, all you need to do is pay attention to these topics and you can easily retain this section.

How to study smart for NEET 2020?
Studying is obviously the first step to conquer this national level entrance examination, but apart from that, there are some other easy ways you can study effectively to get high marks.
- After knowing the weightage, you can proceed to follow your notebooks thoroughly. In particular, NEET books from NCERT can guide you very well with its sample questions and easy language.
- Practicing the last couple of years’ question papers can help you to know the complex question pattern. You can easily get baffled by the tricky questions but if you familiarize yourself with the pattern, you can be ready for them.
- The mock test is also there to help you with online exams. You can start your preparation by taking as many mock tests as you wish; this will help you to increase your performance level and decrease your mistakes.
- Make a study table to divide your time in each section. This way you won’t have to worry about missing out on any topics.
- Try and follow advice from toppers and experts.
In order to get your name on the cutoff list, you will have to pay close attention to every aspect of the syllabus. There have been many exams with low-weightage questions. Thus, you cannot study completely based on the important topics and suggestions. Make your own notes and revise your notes before the examination. If you are preparing for NEET, the Vedantu NEET UG Team has created a set of sample papers and previous-year question papers with answer keys to get started. You should aim to score higher so that you can get a good cutoff rank rather than missing out by mere points.
