(Sep. 24, 2019) — “The object is to surprise the enemy.”

“Good luck with that; why, we’re sitting ducks waiting to be stepped on.”

“If I recollect, if we were waiting to be stepped on, we’d be ants. I think ducks sit around waiting to be flushed and then shot; at least a duck has a fighting chance to escape a hail of buckshot.”

“I say that’s cheatin’; I mean, it’s one thing to blow away a lowlife breaking into your house in the dead of night, but at least give a duck a flying chance.”

“I can’t believe in giving anything a flying chance; blow them all to kingdom come.”

“That’s why hillbillies got missing teeth: they chomped down on a duck’s leg filled with buckshot.”

“What they ought to do is have flavored buckshot.”

“That’s right, made of eatable celery or something that, when cooked, melts.”

“I’d buy garlic-flavored shot. ‘Excuse me, but do you have any garlic for a 20-gauge?’”

“Salt shot for intruders: 12-gauge salt-shot on sale. Look alive; I see the Captain of the Guard sneaking up on us.”

“Let’s ambush him; serve him right for trying to catch us napping on the job.”

“So he could shoot us.”

“He wants to shoot us?”

“Figuratively speaking, Sanders.”

“What does ‘figuratively’ mean? And what are we, ants or ducks?”

“Don’t ask me, ask him; he’ll be here in a minute.”

“How you guys getting along? See anything interesting?”

“I got a question for you, Sarge.”

“This better be good, Sanders.”

“It is, sir. What are we, ants or ducks?”

“You guys really floor me, that’s what you do. You put Sanders up to this, Kelly? Or was it you, Marshall?”

“Not us, Sarge. Why, we’re on guard duty.”

“You want the truth, Sanders? Okay, I’ll tell you the truth. When we’re gone it’ll be just the same; nothing will have changed. They’ll revert to their barbaric ways just as if we were never here. You can’t force democracy down people’s throats; people have to want it, and if there’s any group of people in the world who don’t want our way of life, it’s these ungrateful heathens. That’s the bottom line.”

“But I thought we were here to stop terrorism.”

“No way. Let me ask you something, Sanders: when was the last time we stopped anything? Why, our government can’t even stop a serial murderer, or even worse, a child-molester from committing the crime multiple times: we deport them and they come back and do it again and again, four, five times. It seems we just never learn.  I say hit them in the pocketbook. Anybody who votes for open borders, let them pay for the additional financial burden. Why should we have to foot the bill for something we don’t want?”

“Make it a ‘Pay-to-Vote.’”

“How would that work?”

“Simple: when you’re in the voting booth, in order to vote for the Democrats, you have to agree to have your property taxes raised, like maybe $6,000 a year, which you’ll pay weekly. It’ll be taken out of your retirement check or paycheck automatically, every week.”

“That makes sense.”

“I say let’s do it.”

“Hold it, boys, remember where you’re at and what you’re doing.”

“Oh, we know: we’re in the middle of nowhere wasting our precious time.”

“That’s the spirit!”
