Preparing for the abroad studies can be a really exhausting task as there are a lot of things you need to prepare for this adventure. From enrolling at the university to finding accommodation, you should know that you should prepare some things in advance to make this transition easier for you. Once you start this, you will have a lot of things going on in your mind before you finish everything. But you know it is all worth preparing for further career development! If you are planning to go overseas to pursue your further education, then you will like this article!
Find your accommodation in advance
The first thing you are thinking of is staying and living in a foreign country. It is recommended to get your accommodation in the student’s campus just to get used to living in a country where you will expand your career. Also, another reason for this is that you will be able to get all the help you could need about your studies, staying and living. Every campus offers events where fresh students learn about the basic things in the city where they live, as well as all the college-related help. Do have in mind that you must apply for the student’s accommodation as early as possible in order to get your place reserved.
After you spend some time on the campus and pick things up, then you might consider living on your own in an apartment. This is only recommended because you need some time to learn about the place you are living in and to get to know your college and how it works. Of course, staying in a private apartment is a bit expensive when comparing to the student’s dorms, but it offers the benefits of living alone. Still, whatever type of accommodation you decide to choose, make sure you reserve it in advance. Avoid reserving it once you finish with everything, as it may happen that someone takes it before you.
Getting all the documentation, you need
Depending on the country, you will be required to acquire a visa for living and studying in the country. Visa, passport, motivation letter, a letter from the university you had applied to, CV, and cover letter are some documents you will need. If someone asks is Study Bay legit writing service, then you tell them that they are! You should hire these guys to write your papers in a professional manner! After all, you are moving to a country where you will develop your further career and why not hire a professional service to prepare you and your documents?
After all the documentation, you will need proof that you know the language of the country you are moving in. IELTS or TOEFL are the two most distinguished courses and certifications that will be granted everywhere! So, if you are not really familiar with the language, you should start learning it ASAP. Things are much easier when you know the language!
Pack only necessary stuff
Packing can be really challenging, but if you start it early and on time, you will pack everything you need. However, do have in mind that you should pack light – ideally, two suitcases and a single backpack! Bring everything you will really need, not those pieces of clothes that you are not sure that you will need. Avoid packing linings, for example, if you are going to live in the student’s dorms as these will be available in the campus upon your request. Bring enough different clothes so you could have different layers for the colder weather.
Also, do not forget the airline’s policy about the luggage on time, otherwise you will have to pay unexpectedly the additional fee for the over-weighted suitcases. Double-check everything, so you know your limitations. If you really need some additional weight, prepare the money to pay for this. Also, get some snacks to have with you just to have something to eat until you arrive.
Research and plan your moving
Before you even kick off, perform a thorough research of your destination so you could know where you are going. Check the buses, trains, trams, and all other public transportation schedules to make sure you are informed well and prepared. Download maps on your phone and buy internet if possible, just to be able to communicate with your family but also to Google something if needed. Mark the important points on your map just to have some basic orientation if you need. Also, make sure you inform yourself on time about the museums, restaurants, and cool places that you will explore in your free time.
Make a plan of what and where you need to go first as you do not want to arrive and then think where you need to go. For that reason, plan your route and find the appropriate transportation from the airport to your stay. Another great tip is to buy a transportation ticket that covers all public transportation services. It may be a bit more expensive, but you can buy this for two or three days, just to get familiar with the transportation a bit. After you learn where and how to move, you can buy a monthly pass and enjoy rides.
Do not forget the insurance
Although this is not a required document nor can anyone make a problem because you do not have one, an international insurance policy is highly recommended. In case of an accident, you have covered your health and treatment procedures, up to a certain amount that you agreed to in the insurance company. If you do not have this, on the other hand, you will have to pay a lot of money for treatment in case of an accident. You can get this from any insurance company that offers international insurance policies. It is better to have it and not use it ever, than not to have it and suffer an injury and pay everything on your own.
