(Mar. 6, 2019) — Beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST, the Senate Judiciary Committee is hearing testimony from U.S. Customs & Border Protection Commissioner Kevin K. McAleenan.

The agency is a division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), whose commissioner is Kirstjen Nielsen.

Chairman Lindsey Graham of the Judiciary Committee opened that hearing, after which ranking member Dianne Feinstein gave her opening statement focusing on the welfare of “immigrant” children who cross the Mexico-U.S. border illegally.

At the same time, the House Homeland Security Committee is hearing testimony from Nielsen.

Both hearings are being carried live by C-Span and other media outlets.

Nielsen’s prepared remarks are here.
