(Oct. 9, 2018) — As he responded to reporters’ questions from the Oval Office following the announcement of Nikki Haley’s resignation as United Nations ambassador, President Trump said he will be speaking at a rally in Iowa Tuesday night, where he will make “a big announcement.”

He said an item on the agenda is “ethanol,” but it is unclear if it is the subject of the announcement.

Trump said that many farmers are pleased with his negotiation of new trade agreements with Mexico and Canada, known as the USMCA.  The agreement replaces NAFTA, which Trump said caused millions of American jobs to disappear along with manufacturing businesses.

Trump will be speaking in Council Bluffs beginning at 6:30 CDT.

  1. Let’s hope the big announcement isn’t as rumored, which is more ethanol added to gasoline. Except for farmers, I don’t think that will be very popular for most Trump supporters, and it’s certainly not the kind of huge announcement I am looking for. How about something like, locking Hillary and Obama up?
