Fox News: FBI Additional Kavanaugh Report Likely Completed

HANNITY:  SUPPLEMENTAL COULD BE SENT TO WHITE HOUSE WEDNESDAY

by Sharon Rondeau

(Oct. 2, 2018) — On Tuesday’s “Hannity,” host Sean Hannity broke the news that his sources have said that the FBI’s “supplemental” report on Judge Brett Kavanaugh “could be” sent to the White House on Wednesday.

Kavanaugh, nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Trump in July, had his final confirmation vote put on hold after the Senate Judiciary Committee requested an additional FBI background check resulting from accusations of sexual misconduct from three women.

At a rally in Southaven, MS Tuesday evening, Trump told his supporters that Kavanaugh’s life has been “destroyed” by the uncorroborated claims of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick.

Kavanaugh’s wife and two daughters have received violent threats, multiple sources have reported.

The FBI reportedly has interviewed Kavanaugh’s two male high-school friends, Mark Judge and PJ Smyth; and Leland Ingham Keyser, Ford’s longtime friend, all of whom have previously said in sworn statements that they have no recollection of the gathering Ford has described at which she was allegedly assaulted.

Additional anonymous or faulty claims were made following Swetnick’s, one of which was recanted and referred to the FBI and Justice Department for possible criminal prosecution by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley.

Kavanaugh has denied all of the claims.

Hannity called out MSNBC for airing an interview Monday with Swetnick in which her uncorroborated claims were stated, although differently from in her sworn affidavit.  Also on Monday, The New York Times reported that a New Haven, CT Police Department record shows that Kavanaugh “threw ice” at another man in a bar in during his undergraduate years at Yale.

On Tuesday night, The Times is featuring a story with a handwritten letter from Kavanaugh to his high-school friends regarding “Beach Week,” when a group of boys rented a cottage at the beach and apparently imbibed, at times to excess.

Kavanaugh has been a federal judge for 12 years and to the public’s knowledge, no complaints about alcohol have been filed against him.

Hannity contrasted the micro-scrutiny of Kavanaugh’s background to that of Barack Obama, who wrote in his first book, “Dreams From My Father,” that during his first two years of college, he was constantly high on drugs, drank heavily, and often fought with other students.

Whether or not Kavanaugh is ultimately confirmed, Sen. Lindsey Graham told Hannity at approximately 9:21 p.m. EDT, will depend on the results of the FBI supplemental report and several Republican senators who were undecided as of last week.  Constitutionally, the Senate’s role in any judicial or cabinet-member nomination is that of “advice and consent.”

At present the Senate has 51 Republicans, 47 Democrats, and two Independents who normally vote with Democrats.

Many Americans have observed that the attacks on Kavanaugh are unprecedented in the history of confirmations of Supreme Court nominees.

Hannity stressed that the midterm elections will occur in 35 days, the outcome of which will determine which party controls each chamber of Congress.  At present, Republicans control the Senate and House of Representatives and therefore chair all congressional committees.

Graham predicted that Democrat senators in “red states” who are running for re-election will not be successful on November 6.
