MICHAEL AVENATTI GOES AFTER SUPREME COURT NOMINEE, HIGH SCHOOL ACQUAINTANCE

by Sharon Rondeau

(Sep. 23, 2018) — Michael Avenatti, a lawyer who represents adult-film actress Stormy Daniels in a lawsuit against Donald Trump, claimed on Sunday evening that he “represent(s) a woman with credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge. We will be demanding the opportunity to present testimony to the committee and will likewise be demanding that Judge and others be subpoenaed to testify.”

Avenatti is presumably referring to a fifth day of confirmation hearings on Judge Brett Kavanaugh scheduled for Thursday to accommodate the testimony of a woman from California who says that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her during a high-school summer party where alcohol was available.

The woman reportedly did not wish to come forward as expressed in a letter addressed to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which vets federal judicial nominees.

However, she identified herself to The Washington Post, which published an article detailing her claims against Kavanaugh on September 16.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford attended the Holton Arms all-girls’ school in suburban Washington and currently is a psychology instructor at Palo Alto University in California.  She claims that the assault occurred at a pool party at an unidentified home during the summer of 1982 when she was 15 and Kavanaugh 17.

On Sunday night The Drudge Report and other sources began to report sketchy details of a second Kavanaugh accuser following The Post’s interview with Ford.

Ford’s entrance into the confirmation process of Kavanaugh has caused several delays in a vote which was to be taken by the Senate Judiciary Committee and wrangling over if or when Ford would come to Washington to testify as to her claims.

On Sunday afternoon it was reported by multiple outlets that an agreement with Ford’s attorneys — Lisa Banks, Debra Katz and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s attorney, Michael Bromwich — and the committee for Ford to testify on Thursday, even though committee Chairman Chuck Grassley had originally said Thursday was not possible for the committee’s schedule.

It is unclear why a sexual-assault victim requires a “legal team” and political adviser, who has reportedly been hired to advise Ford in the person of seasoned Democrat political strategist Ricki Seidman.

Also reported on Sunday by Peter Baker of The New York Times and others is that Kavanaugh reportedly has calendars detailing his activities and possible whereabouts for the summer of 1982 which may or may not prove that he did or did not attend the party where Ford said he assaulted her.

Ford additionally says she cannot recall the exact home where the incident allegedly occurred, how she arrived at the party or in what manner she returned home.  She said she told no one about it until 2012, when she reportedly informed her therapist.

Four people Ford identified as witnesses at the party have said that they have no recollection of the event.  One of them, Mark Judge, is now in Avenatti’s crosshairs, according to his tweet.  Judge has written that he consumed alcohol heavily while in high school.

Both Judge and Kavanaugh attended Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda, MD.

Ford claimed that Judge was in the room when Kavanaugh assaulted her.  Judge and Kavanaugh have vehemently denied that the incident occurred.

The FBI has reportedly conducted six background checks on Kavanaugh and found no criminal complaints against him.  He has served for 12 years on the U.S. District of Appeals for the District of Columbia, before which he served as George W. Bush’s staff secretary.

“The nomination must be withdrawn,” Avenatti concluded his tweet.

Katz has also expressed a desire for Mark Judge to testify, but thus far, it does not appear that any witnesses other than Kavanaugh and Ford will be permitted to appear.

In a further comment, Avenatti said who his client allegedly is not.

Those on the political left have united against Kavanaugh’s ascension to the high court, fearing that he could overturn Roe v. Wade.  According to Paul Sperry of The New York Post, a number of left-leaning groups will descend on Washington, DC this week to cause disruption to Kavanaugh’s confirmation vote if one is to take place.
