“INSOLENT” HECKLERS DISRUPT SENATORS’ OPENING STATEMENTS

by Sharon Rondeau

(Sep. 4, 2018) — During Sen. Orrin Hatch’s opening statement in the hearing for U.S. Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, hecklers again interrupted, as they had during Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley’s opening statement.

Hecklers throughout the hearing did not appear to have been immediately removed by the U.S. Capitol Police.

At 11:11 a.m., Grassley remarked to Hatch, who stopped his remarks because of heckling and asked that those responsible be removed, that he has always conducted hearings with the understanding that the Capitol Police would “do their job.”

Grassley asked Hatch if he wished to continue, to which Hatch responded in the affirmative.  Just after resuming his statement, the heckling began again, although it stopped sooner than at other times throughout the contentious hearing.

Earlier, the hearing was immediately interrupted by committee Democrats with the claim that documents not released on Kavanaugh’s service in the Bush White House as staff secretary were necessary to evaluate him and a demand to adjourn the hearing and move into an executive session.

After a few minutes of quiet, louder shouting by several individuals resumed, louder than before, as Hatch attempted to finish his statement, which was laudatory toward Kavanaugh.

At 11:19, the shouting began again, after which Hatch said to Grassley that the “insolence” from gallery hecklers should not have to be tolerated.

At 11:20, Grassley recognized Feinstein to “introduce” attendees at the hearing, which included Al Sharpton, representatives from the NAACP and other “civil rights” activists and individuals.

The heckling stopped but resumed after Democrat Sen. Patrick Leahy had been reading his statement critical of Kavanaugh for several minutes.  Leahy stopped, and, addressing Grassley, said he “did not intend” to continue speaking with “such interruptions.”

Leahy minutes later claimed that President Trump is claiming “executive privilege” over approximately 102,000 pages of documents relating to Kavanaugh.

At 11:42, Cornyn stopped his opening statement as more heckling was heard, with unknown cameras swiveling to show four U.S. Capitol police standing near the heckler but removing no one.  At 11:43, however, a woman was shown being removed, followed by a man, as Cornyn again suspended his remarks.

Another female heckler was removed at 11:45 after Cornyn again stopped speaking.

My opinion on the why there were little to no real objections from Congress on Obama’s appointees:

Somebody should have said at the hearings for Kagan and Sotomayer. “This person cannot be confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice because nominating a SCOTUS judge is the job of a constitutionally eligible president, identified as such by being properly vetted by those responsible, and who swore an oath of office to protect the Constitution from her enemies, both foreign and domestic.” One of the biggest reasons the Deep State groomed, “Obama”, and got him installed as America’s putative president was to load the Supreme Court with leftist judges, along with all the other courts. When Congress violated their oath of office by allowing the unvetted, red flags begging for an investigation of his identity documents and real life history Obama to be sworn-in, they cancelled any chance of ever objecting to much of anything Obama did, both to not be called racist, and to not to risk doing anything which could lead to the truth about Obama, and reveal their complicity in getting him into America’s presidency.
Playing nice with Obama became very personal with all who allowed Obama to be sworn-in, from both sides of the isle, because of their complicity in the biggest criminal act ever perpetrated on American citizens……..and the Deep State took maximum advantage of that throughout Obama’s 8 years. The tentacles of a successful usurpation reach far and wide.

I think Grassley’s reluctance to emphatically shut down the likes of grandstanders Harris, Booker, Hirono and Blumenthal, etc., was to give them some rope to hang themselves. Imagine these dolts screaming for more documents they will not read and don’t need when they have already made up their minds that they will not under any circumstance vote to confirm Kavanaugh. I think that Grassley knew full well the optics would be detrimental to their image. Same goes for the moronic protesters who had no decency and respect for the process and apparently no jobs to report to. What a spectacle for all of these leftist blockheads.

What if, which would be highly unlikely, that if it were Tea Party Members, Conservatives, or
Republicans making disruptions in the halls that they wouldn’t have been arrested “on the
spot”?
