“THEY JUST DIDN’T GET IT, BUT THEY DO NOW!”

(Jul. 8, 2018) — At approximately 6:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, President Trump tweeted a video from the YouTube channel of “Elouai” titled “#NeverTrump election night 2016” in which media election-watchers, commentators, politicians and even cartoon figures declare their incredulity at a Donald Trump presidency.
“They just didn’t get it, but they do now!” Trump tweeted without explaining who or what brought the video to his attention.

Published on December 5, 2016, the video lasts just over three minutes and begins with a depiction of Trump riding the downward escalator at Trump Tower as he did on June 16, 2015, the day he declared himself a presidential candidate. He is followed by Homer Simpson of “The Simpsons” fame.
Indeed, on that day The New York Times called a Trump presidency “improbable,” while political pundit and author Ann Coulter predicted differently early in the 2+-year campaign. Coulter’s comments were met with guffaws from MSNBC commentator Joy Reid, her colleagues and a rowdy audience.
Former Sen. Harry Reid, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Trump arch-enemy Rosie O’Donnell and Barack Hussein Obama all said with confidence during the campaign that Trump “will never be president.”
The video fast-forwards to election night 2016, when Trump began rapidly gaining electoral votes in Midwestern states and election-watchers failed to maintain any semblance of objectivity as they declared the results to their audiences.
As of this writing, the video has 7,439 views.
