TO BE RELEASED “VERY SOON”

by Sharon Rondeau

(May 3, 2018) — On Thursday’s edition of the FNC show “Hannity,” investigative journalist and Fox News contributor Sara A. Carter said that the Justice Department Inspector General is expected to release his next report dealing with political corruption within the DOJ and FBI “very soon.”

IG Michael Horowitz has been investigating allegations of wrongdoing within the federal law-enforcement agencies since January 12, 2017.

When host Sean Hannity asked Carter “how soon” Horowitz’s next report will be released, Carter responded, “Within weeks.”

She then said that Horowitz, an Obama appointee, has been waiting for former FBI Director James Comey to “start talking,” apparently about his alleged activity and decisions made while he served as the agency’s director through May 9 of last year.

Comey has been on a “book tour” promoting his April 17 release, “A Higher Loyalty.”

Horowitz has released an initial report stating that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was dishonest with investigators about how sensitive information from the agency ended up in The Wall Street Journal in 2016.  The report prompted McCabe’s firing in mid-March by Attorney General Jeff Sessions just before he was about to collect a lifetime pension and benefits valued at approximately $1.8 million.

Comey said he has hired a team of three attorneys to represent him but is speaking freely as he promotes his book and defends his actions, particularly in regard to the Hillary Clinton email investigation in which he cleared Clinton of criminal prosecution.  That decision became the basis for his termination by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last May.

Comey has justified his release to “friend” and reportedly clandestine FBI operative Daniel Richman of at least one memo Comey wrote about his interactions with President Trump shortly after his inauguration on January 20, 2017. Comey claims he did not leak classified information, although Trump has called Comey “a leaker and a liar.”

Carter said that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch will also be a subject of Horowitz’s next report.
