LATE WINTER GIVES WAY TO NEW LIFE, WARM TEMPERATURES
by Sharon Rondeau
(Apr. 11, 2017) — After a cold March punctuated by ice and snow and a week of raw, damp and rainy weather, spring appears to have finally arrived.
The birds make their presence known by day and the peepers at night.
A cardinal arrived today, and a woodpecker was busy at its work in the unexpected 80-degree warmth.
Some unwelcome summer guests have returned in the form of bees, gnats and wasps. Mosquitoes will soon follow.
Green is everywhere, and yellow and just a hint of purple.
A beautiful – and most welcome – time of year.
