PICKING UP SPEED

by Sharon Rondeau

(Feb. 10, 2017) — A petition calling for a pardon and reinstatement in the U.S. Army for former Lt. Col. and Dr. Terry Lakin shows a gain of 316 signatures over this time on Thursday.

In December 2010, Lakin was sentenced to six months in Ft. Leavenworth prison for refusing to deploy after asking for proof that Barack Hussein Obama met the eligibility criteria for president and commander-in-chief of the U.S. military. During that time, all pay and benefits were rescinded, and he was discharged dishonorably later that year.

As Lakin was completing his sentence, the White House released what it said was a scan of a certified copy of Obama’s “long-form” birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. Within days, however, the image was deemed a poorly-crafted forgery by several computer and graphics experts.

The petition was launched on January 21, but it quickly became apparent that the signature-counter was not functioning properly. Thousands of people who had followed Lakin’s story were notified about the petition by Terry Lakin Action Fund Trustee Marco Ciavolino, and dozens of commenters at this publication indicated they had signed it. nevertheless, the counter remained stuck at one signature for three days and in the single digits for approximately a week.

New signatures began showing up in greater numbers last week, with the pace having accelerated to between 200 and 300 each day in recent days.

On Thursday morning at approximately 9:40 AM EST, The Post & Email reported that there were 1,600 signatures on the petition, and there now are 1,916.

On Thursday night, Lakin was a guest on the WOBC radio program hosted by founder Mike Volin.  A quiet-spoken man, Dr. Lakin is currently running a private medical practice in his home state of Colorado but expressed a desire to return to the Army if it were at all possible. Lakin made a point to mention other former officers convicted of war crimes, some of whom have been released from Leavenworth but some of whom remain imprisoned on long sentences, who he believes deserve presidential pardons before he is considered for one.

In an interview with The Post & Email two weeks ago, Ciavolino identified a security certificate lapse at whitehouse.gov but believes that the problem may now be resolved.

In a letter to one of Donald Trump’s legal team in December, Ciavolino asked Trump to consider a full pardon and reinstatement in the Army for Lakin given that the image released by the Obama regime was proved a “computer-generated forgery” by a criminal investigative team out of Maricopa County, AZ and the results confirmed by two forensic analysts approaching the image from two different disciplines.

Early in 2011, Trump himself was called the lead “birther,” meaning someone who questioned Obama’s birthplace or eligibility, as Trump publicly voiced the concern of millions of Americans who had read a number of articles readily available on the web stating that Obama was born in Indonesia or Kenya, and not Hawaii as he claimed.

Trump and demanded that the White House release Obama’s “long-form” birth certificate proving that he was born in Hawaii, although in an April 8, 2011 meeting at Trump Tower in New York City, Trump predicted that the White House would ultimately release a forgery.

A total of 100,000 signatures is needed by February 20 for the White House to provide a response.

The number of signatures posted on the White House web site is placed there as static content, which changes only when the entire page is refreshed. The recording and tallying of signatures is a separate operation from posting the tally and may be done at the discretion of those maintaining the site at the pace they desire.
