“THE WORK BEGINS!”

by Sharon Rondeau

(Jan. 20, 2017) — 8:30 a.m. – On Friday morning, President-Elect Donald J. Trump tweeted that “It all begins today!  I will see you at 11:00 A.M. for the swearing-in.”

The official swearing-in for the president is at 11:30, but events officially begin at 9:30 this morning.

Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence and Trump will both attend a prayer service in Washington before arriving at the inauguration location.

As reported on Fox News on Friday, Pence is the grandson of an Irish immigrant who settled in Chicago and drove a taxicab.

As of 8:33 a.m., the Trumps exited Blair House and will shortly be on their way to St. John’s Cathedral for the private prayer service.

Blair House is the guest house for dignitaries, both international and domestic, named after an ancestor of Montgomery Blair Sibley.

At 9:30, the Trumps, Pences and Obamas will meet for tea.

Trump has been criticized for tweeting directly to the people rather than using traditional media outlets to disseminate his message.  It has been reported that he will maintain his Twitter account through his presidency.
