“THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU CAN’T DO”

by Contributor

(Oct. 10, 2016) — The Las Vegas strip is the entertainment and gambling centre of the whole entire world, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have rules and laws; if not, it means quite the opposite. Las Vegas generally enables many visitors to get away with more than most places. Gambling is legal, walking down the street with certain drinks is also legal; however, despite this there are some things that you can’t do in Vegas.

Misdemeanours

Laws are highly important from chemicals, and their laws that are featured in the periodic table to the laws of the casino, which regulates fair games for players, all make sense and are there for a good reason. However, there are some laws in Vegas which are not only pretty weird but also have no purpose, including the fact that it’s a misdemeanour to fix shoes using X-rays. Another misdemeanour is that you cannot conceal a baby’s birth.

Megaphones

There has now been a ban on megaphones in Vegas in attempt to ban unlicensed vendors at the Fermont Street Experience. It also includes jugglers and tasers, a ban that became necessary when a Gene Simmons impersonator was caught on video tasering someone for no reason – which makes sense as a law.

Hip-Hop Concerts

Way back in 2005, Sheriff Bill Young called on all casinos to ban all hip-hop and gangster rap artists from performing in Vegas. The reason was that there were various violent incidents related to these genre concerts, apparently. The Gaming Control Board weighed in, warning the casinos that they would now be held responsible for any “hip-hop-related” violence that occurred on their premises. Casinos began to feel pressure and had to stop scheduling future shows; however, many believe it isn’t the music but other things that make people prone to violence.

Vuvuzelas

These are not just banned and illegal in Vegas but also in the UK. They were first introduced during the 2010 World Cup, and then many vendors in Vegas saw a retail opportunity and adopted the noisemaker. However soon after, the UFC proceeded to ban them at its Vegas events, and now many more places have begun banning them too.
