AWAITING RESULTS IN MONTANA, CALIFORNIA, SOUTH DAKOTA

by Sharon Rondeau

From the California Secretary of State’s website, June 7, 2016. California is the most populous state in the U.S.

(Jun. 7, 2016) — As of 10:49 p.m. EDT, Hillary Clinton has won the New Jersey Democrat primary, while Donald Trump won the Republican primary in the Garden State.

Five other states held primaries and caucuses on Tuesday:  Montana, California, North Dakota, New Mexico, and South Dakota.

As of Monday night, Clinton was reported by the Associated Press to have garnered enough delegates and super-delegates to qualify for the Democrat presidential nomination at its convention in Philadelphia this summer.  On May 26, the AP reported that Trump acquired enough delegates to achieve the Republican nomination in Cleveland.

At 9:00 p.m. EDT, Trump gave a speech at his National Golf Club in Westchester County, NY touching on the topics of jobs, trade policies, Americans killed by illegal aliens, manufacturing, taxes, inner-city decay, and the prospects of a return to “prosperity.”

During his opening remarks, Trump said that it is “an honor to lead the Republican Party to victory this fall,” calling his campaign “a movement.”

He decried political cronyism and a “rigged system” which maintains the elites in power.  Trump also denounced Clinton’s alleged “selling of government contracts” and use of a “totally illegal private server.”  He then said he would “give a major speech on probably Monday of next week” about “the Clintons” which he predicted the public “would find very informative and very, very interesting.”

“I wonder if the press will want to attend,” he added, tongue-in-cheek.

“We will make our cities safe again,” Trump said toward the end of his speech.

While Montana and California are still voting as of this writing, Bernie Sanders has been declared the winner of the North Dakota caucus and hopes to win California.  Results are not yet in for South Dakota.

The last 2016 presidential primary will be held on June 14 for Democrats only in the District of Columbia.  The Republican primary for the district was held on March 12.

Clinton or her attorneys may still face FBI questioning over her use of a private, unsecured email server for her communications while she served as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. Trump has been sharply criticized over the last week for accusing U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel of bias against him in the civil case against his former real-estate training program, Trump University, LLC.

Clinton has referred to the FBI probe as a “security inquiry” rather than an “investigation.”  Trump has predicted that he will win the case against him, which will be determined by a jury after the election.

As a number of internet publications, including this one, have reported, Curiel is a member of the La Raza Lawyers of California, which has awarded at least one scholarship to an illegal alien and has connections to the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and other organizations opposed to a Trump candidacy.

The mainstream media has not researched Curiel’s background, which GotNews.com reported, with documentary evidence, includes having been born in Indiana to two non-U.S. citizen parents.

Some Republicans, including Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, have denounced Trump’s remarks about Curiel as “racist.”

When Obama was running for president in 2008, anyone opposed to his candidacy was labeled “racist.”

As of press time, Clinton had not yet delivered what was to be expected as her victory speech at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Update:  Voting in California has just closed at 11:00 p.m. EDT/8:00 p.m. PDT.
