“DEEPER INTO THE POLICY WEEDS”

by Sharon Rondeau

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan

(May 12, 2016) — 11:40 a.m. EDT – Speaker of the House Paul Ryan gave a press conference regarding his 45-minute meeting with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, courtesy of Politico.

Ryan, who is facing a primary challenge on August 9 for his seat representing Wisconsin’s First Congressional District, said that he is looking for “common ground” with Trump as he becomes better acquainted with him and in order to unite the Republican Party going into the November general election.

“Most Americans do not like where this country is headed,” Ryan said at 11:42 in response to a question from the audience.

Questions posed are inaudible to this writer.

At 11:44, Ryan concluded the conference by stating, “We’re going to go a little deeper into the policy weeds,” indicating that his relationship with Trump would encompass policy issues and differences as well as areas of agreement.

Last week, Ryan had said that he was “not ready” to endorse Trump.

  1. I’M ROOTING FOR DONALD – HE IS A FORCE OF NATURE AND JUST THE WIND TO AIR OUT WASHINGTON. CORRUPTION HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FACTOR IN WASHINGTON BUT WITH THIS LATEST ADMINISTRATION IT HAS REACHED CRITICAL MASS AND PEOPLE ARE FINALLY SPEAKING UP. WHY DO WE WAIT SO LONG?

  2. All the Congress and Senate need to be replaced.

Let’s get regular and common folks in office that are
not for sale, have good character, live their faith,
and have the welfare of their citizens in mind.

Time to clean house. TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP…

Fire the good-old-boys, put in new blood.
