AND COLONIAL-ERA REBELLIONS

by Michael Gaddy

Cortez is located in southwestern Colorado at the “Four Corners”

(Mar. 5, 2016) — [Editor’s Note:  The original date announced for the class was Saturday, March 19.  As of March 7, 2016, the date has been rescheduled to March 26.]

On Saturday, March 26th we will resume our study of our Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights and founding era. We will begin at Shiloh Steak House in Cortez, CO at 10:00 am.

Our subject for this class will be twofold. First of all we will examine two rebellions during the early years of our country. First will be Shay’s Rebellion and second will be the Whiskey Rebellion.

Next we will take on a very interesting subject: In reference to following their Oath of office, who were the 5 best presidents in our country’s history and who were the 5 worst? I believe my picks will surprise you. Here is the presidential oath of office for reference purposes.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
