(Feb. 22, 2016) — Obama eligibility and impeachment activist Michael Jackson recently contacted his new congressman, Darin LaHood, representing Illinois’s 18th Congressional District, asking him to join the effort in introducing Articles of Impeachment against Barack Hussein Obama into the House Judiciary Committee.

LaHood was elected in a September 2015 special election following the resignation of Rep. Aaron Schock in March of last year after ethics questions were raised relating to trips and expenditures he had incurred while serving in Congress.

LaHood was sworn in as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives on September 17, which is also known as “Constitution Day.”

The Articles of Impeachment were written by the North American Law Center (NALC) in July 2014. Over the last eight months, a renewed push for their review by the House committee has been spurred by NALC co-founder and writer JB Williams and NALC lead attorney Stephen Pidgeon, with the very recent public support of Rep. Ted Yoho of Florida’s Third District.

Williams and Pidgeon host a weekly radio show on Sunday evenings from 5 PM to 7 PM ET during which they discuss new developments in the impeachment effort, speak with guests actively involved in moving forward the Articles or county impeachment resolutions, and accept calls from members of the public.

Since 2008, Jackson has advocated for the opening of Barack Hussein Obama’s records so that the American people might know his background. During Obama’s presidential campaign that year, the media imposed a virtual blackout of any questions to Obama’s constitutional eligibility to serve as president; his voting record in both the U.S. Senate and the Illinois State Senate; his childhood, college and early adult years; his past associations and medical history.

Just as with presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio presently, many Americans questioned whether or not Obama is a “natural born Citizen” as required by Article II, Section 1, clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution for the presidency. Obama claims a birth in Hawaii to a U.S.-citizen mother and Kenyan father who at the time would have been a British citizen.

In 2012, Jackson filed a ballot challenge to Obama’s eligibility but was not permitted to speak at the hearing held by the Illinois State Board of Elections.

On his now-defunct campaign website, FighttheSmears, Obama stated that he was eligible to hold the office as a result of the passage of the 14th amendment in 1868 and his alleged birth in Hawaii.

In 1991, Obama’s literary agent published a biography as a precursor to his first book stating that he was “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”  In April 2007, just two months after Obama announced his presidential candidacy, the biography was changed to say that Obama was born in Hawaii.

The Constitution was written in 1787 and ratified by the 13 original states in 1789.

In early 2011, current presidential candidate Donald Trump was considering challenging Obama for the presidency in 2012 and stridently demanded that Obama release his “long-form” birth certificate containing the signature of the physician who delivered him, a registrar’s official stamp, and a raised seal from the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH).

On April 27, 2011, the White House released what he claimed was a scan of a certified copy of Obama’s long-form birth certificate obtained from the HDOH just days before. Almost at once, the image was pronounced a forgery by several graphics professionals.

In September of that year, approximately 250 constituents of Maricopa County, AZ approached their Sheriff, Joseph Arpaio, with concerns that if the claims of forgery were accurate, their votes would be disenfranchised in the upcoming presidential election. The group called upon Arpaio to launch an investigation of the image is authenticity, to which Arpaio agreed, delegating the task to his Cold Case Posse so as to incur no taxpayer expense.

On March 1, 2012, posse lead investigator Mike Zullo and Arpaio gave the first of two formal press conferences in which they affirmed that the birth certificate image, as well as Obama’s Selective Service registration form, is a “computer-generated forgery.”  Last fall, it was revealed that Arpaio believes that “the government of Hawaii” was involved in some way in the production of the fraudulent document.

The first article of the case for impeachment made by NALC accuses Obama of having committed “usurpation of the Oval Office via criminal identity fraud.”

The remaining two articles deal with actions Obama has taken while in office, including aiding and abetting America’s enemies in the Middle East and failing to uphold federal law.

In January 2013, NALC petitioned every member of Congress through hand-delivered letters to delay certifying the Electoral College votes from the 2012 election until Obama’s eligibility could be determined. However, no one in either chamber of Congress raised an objection.

Thus far, Yoho is the only congressman who has definitively voiced a desire to move forward on Obama’s impeachment.

LaHood’s response to Jackson earlier this month reads:

February 11, 2016

Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting me regarding impeachment proceedings for President Obama. Your views are important to me as I work to effectively represent you and Illinois’ 18th Congressional District.

According to Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution, the President, Vice President, and all civil officers, will be removed from their official office if they are convicted of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. Under Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution, the House of Representatives has the sole power to impeach a federal official and needs a simple majority to pass an Article of Impeachment. Under Article I, Section 3 of the Constitution, the Senate has the sole power to try impeachments, with a two-thirds majority needed to convict the accused, and decides if removal from current and/or future office is suitable.

Like you, I disagree with President Obama on most issues. During the remainder of the 114th Congress, House and Senate Republicans will continue sending legislation to the president’s desk to overturn and roll back his Administration’s policies. In addition, as a staunch supporter of the Constitution, I will continue to fight in Congress to protect the rights of law abiding citizens, as well as ensure the separation of powers. I will monitor and scrutinize the actions of this administration and work with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that the legislative branch has all options available to address executive overreach.

Thank you again for contacting me. Please stay in touch and share your views as we discuss these issues in Congress.
