WILL THE NEXT SPEAKER INVESTIGATE THE OBAMA DOCUMENT FORGERIES?
by Sharon Rondeau
(Sep. 25, 2015) — On January 5, The Post & Email published an interview with presidential eligibility activist Cheryl Surber, who suggested that Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio be elected Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
As Surber noted at the time, the Speaker constitutionally does not have to be elected to either the House or Senate.
On Friday morning, current Speaker of the House John Boehner’s resignation from the position and also from Congress was announced by major and secondary media. Boehner’s decision apparently surprised many, if not all, in his caucus. He will leave the lower chamber of Congress at the end of October, having served since January 1991.
In January Surber mentioned several other individuals she recommended for Speaker, including herself and Mike Volin, founder of WheresObamasBirthCerificate.com (WOBC). Surber has been active with the organization over the last several years by traveling to Washington, DC; contacting her elected officials; and speaking on radio shows about the declared forgeries of Barack Hussein Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form as determined by the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse.
Surber also ran twice unsuccessfully for the office of Justice of the Peace for Texas’s Fifth District.
In January, Surber’s primary reason for advocating Arpaio as Speaker was that he has pursued the questions surrounding the long-form birth certificate image for the last four years, delegating the investigation to his Cold Case Posse so as to avoid using taxpayer dollars.
The posse is supported by donations and performs its work on a pro bono basis.
On March 1, 2012, Arpaio and Cold Case Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo presented their findings at an initial press conference in which they stated that there was “probable cause” to believe that the long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form are “computer-generated forgeries.”
A second press conference held on July 17 of the same year provided greater detail as to how their conclusions were reached but garnered little from the mainstream press other than opposition, sarcasm, and an unwillingness to investigate the matter independently.
Zullo and Arpaio additionally called for a congressional investigation which never occurred. In an interview with Tea Party Power Hour host Mark Gillar on September 9, 2012, Zullo stated that Boehner was obstructing any congressional probe which might have been launched.
In December 2013, Arpaio’s office was found to have committed civil and constitutional rights violations against individuals of Latino origin during traffic stops and searches characterized as “immigration sweeps.” Court hearings in that case have recommenced after a several-month hiatus following Arpaio’s request that U.S. District Court Judge G. Murray Snow recuse himself for a conflict of interest.
The U.S. Department of Justice and Arpaio recently achieved a settlement agreement on similar accusations which also encompassed accommodating Spanish-speaking-only jail inmates.
In August 2012, a U.S. Department of Justice criminal probe into whether or not Arpaio abused the power of his office was abruptly dropped with very little explanation.
During hearings in April over which Snow presided, the work of a confidential informant to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Dennis Montgomery, became a line of questioning, although unrelated to the subject of “racial profiling.” Snow ultimately subpoenaed approximately 50 hard drives and other data from Arpaio’s office produced by Montgomery. During questioning, Arpaio and his chief deputy, Jerry Sheridan, stated that Montgomery had provided information that some type of government surveillance had been carried out against a number of Arpaio’s attorneys, thousands of Maricopa County citizens, and an unspecified number of federal judges. Sheridan specifically mentioned that a suspicion was that the CIA was wiretapping MCSO phones.
Montgomery is a former CIA and NSA contractor whose attorney, Larry Klayman, claims he possesses documentation equally or perhaps even more revealing about government surveillance than that which was revealed by Edward Snowden nearly 28 months ago.
Rep. Louis Gohmert and Rep. Ted Yoho had declared themselves challengers to Boehner’s speakership in January.
