“A SACRED OATH”

by Michael Gaddy, ©2015

Patrick Henry served twice as Virginia’s governor and opposed a centralized government

(Sep. 12, 2015) — “I solemnly swear to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

What would you call the person who foolishly trades away their individual rights as defined in the Bill of Rights and also traded away all of their rights as guaranteed by their creator? To make it even worse, what if that person actually paid to have their rights destroyed and then embraced and worshiped the people who stole those rights?

An overwhelming majority of the people who have worked most diligently to destroy this country and its republican form of government have taken a sacred oath to do exactly the opposite of what they have accomplished. They took the oath that is quoted in the opening of this article.

A better understanding of the import of the true meaning of that oath is critical in order to comprehend exactly how we have devolved from a republic to a nation that embraces both extremes of socialism. The Democrats love Marxism and the Republicans love the National Socialism and exceptionalism of empire; both are still socialist.

The words of the oath defined:

Solemnly: to perform in a grave and earnest manner

Swear: a declaration or affirmation by some sacred being

Uphold: to claim or support something that has been questioned

Defend: protect from harm or danger

All: the whole quantity

Enemy: one who is actively opposed or hostile to something or someone

Foreign: not native

Domestic: existing or occurring inside

As previously stated, almost everyone in government, whether elected or appointed, takes an oath in which the phrase “uphold and defend the Constitution…against all enemies foreign and domestic” appears. No one taking this oath has a greater or a lesser responsibility to adhere to the principles of that oath. The local official, the deputy sheriff, the county clerk, the city cop; all have no less a responsibility to protect our Constitution than the president, member of congress, Supreme Court Justice or state or local judge. The principles contained in our Constitution are not subservient to any other edict, regulation or law. The Constitution, including our Bill of Rights, reigns supreme over any other actions of government or its employees regardless of the “emergencies” they create to justify their acts of tyranny.

We will hear many proclaim that “we are a nation of laws.” That is an incorrect statement; “We are a republic of rights” should be the proclamation. Our collective problem, as a country which began as a republic, is the vast majority of the people who make up the masses have no idea there is a difference in a nation or a republic or a law or a right. A thoroughly entertained but ignorant population will always be slaves to those who have no conscience. And those who have no conscience relentlessly seek power and dominion over others.

This same population routinely treats politicians who violate their oath to our Constitution as often as they brush their teeth as rock stars. I have many times watched as leaders of so-called liberty groups have licked the boots of politicians who rarely vote with the Constitution over half the time when these politicians see fit to grace the people with their presence. That form of worship is also on display to those who wear a badge or uniform.

I have received hundreds of emails from folks who claim they are constitutionalists imploring me and others to “support” and defend members of law enforcement. I promise I will just as soon as they stop referring to themselves as “law enforcement” officers and begin instead referring to themselves and their profession as “constitution enforcement” officers. Believe me—there is a huge difference.

Be especially afraid of those who claim it is not their job to determine whether the “laws” they are enforcing are constitutional. As stated above, they take the same oath as those who write those laws. Can’t say much for men or women who are more selective about their haircut than they are about the laws they support and enforce without question as to their constitutionality; laws which many times deprive others in their communities of rightful freedom and private property.

Thomas Jefferson was among many who taught the difference between Liberty and the law. He stated “…the law is often nothing but the tyrant’s will and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.” To fully understand this we must be cognizant of the fact everything Hitler and his Gestapo did was lawful in Germany at the time. So were the actions of Stalin’s NKVD and Mao and his Hongweibing.

Many of our founders, especially the Anti-federalists, feared a standing army more than any other threat to Liberty. Why, you ask? Because they witnessed firsthand how King George III used the military to enforce his tyrannical laws in the colonies. Patrick Henry spoke of the “federal sheriffs” in the Virginia Ratification Convention.

“The federal sheriff may commit what oppression, make what distresses, he pleases, and ruin you with impunity; for how are you to tie his hands? Have you any sufficiently decided means of preventing him from sucking your blood by speculations, commissions, and fees?”

To this, Federalist John Marshall, who as Chief Justice possibly did more to destroy the intent of the founders than anyone, responded thusly:

“[According to Patrick Henry…the officers of the government will be screened from merited punishment by the federal judiciary. The federal sheriff, says he, will go into a poor man’s house and beat him, or abuse his family, and the federal courts will protect him. Does any gentleman believe this? Is it necessary that the officers will commit a trespass on the property or persons of those with whom they are to transact business?”

Does any gentleman believe this? The examples which support Patrick Henry and refute the words of John Marshall are so numerous; to recount them all would fill volumes. The “federal sheriffs” who have been the most frequent and brutal in going into the houses of citizens and abusing them and their families are the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. (BATFE) Need I say more than Ruby Ridge and Waco? How many of the “federal sheriffs” have been held accountable for their actions in these cases? Have the federal courts protected or indicted them?

So, armed with the ability to look back, who was correct in their assessment of what our government would become and how the “federal sheriffs” would evolve; Patrick Henry or John Marshall?

I know this is hard for the majority of the masses, who despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary, wish to believe the government is there to help them. I also realize it is damn near impossible for them to believe the military and law enforcement are the enforcement arm of the government and not the protectors of individual rights. While millions are walking across our unprotected borders our military is thousands of miles away—who are they protecting—the people or the government? When push comes to shove—and it will—the majority of both forces will side with their masters and their paychecks. That was proved beyond a doubt in New Orleans ten years ago in the Hurricane Katrina debacle when the military and police followed orders from their master and seized weapons from the citizens, some who were not in jeopardy of the flood waters. Sure, there were some who refused, but not enough to keep citizens of New Orleans from being harassed and having their guns confiscated (stolen.)

How fantastic would it be for freedom and liberty if the members of the “law enforcement” community actually honored their sacred oaths to our Constitution? What if they became constitution enforcement officers instead of supporters of the will of the tyrant? What if the legislator who proposed unconstitutional laws on the federal and state level had to fear SWAT raids on their homes for their refusal to uphold and defend our Constitution? What if clowns in black gowns had to fear arrest for sentencing people to prison based on unconstitutional laws and seizing the private property of honest citizens?

What if the “law enforcement” arm of the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service arrested those in power in those bureaucracies for seizing land and water that belongs to the citizens of this country? What if the “federal sheriffs” down at the BATFE would have gone to the Department of Justice and arrested Eric Holder for the harebrained idea of selling firearms to Mexican gang members in Operation Fast and Furious? What if he was held accountable in the death of Border Patrol officer Brian Terry? After all, Eric Holder and the leadership of the BATFE provided the weapon used to end his life. What if the FBI went to the Environmental Protection Agency and arrested Gina McCarthy for endangering the lives and livelihood of people in the Animas River basin for the colossal spill in Colorado. What if the “We didn’t mean to, it was an accident” defense worked the same for citizens as it does for government employees? What if they were forced to take lie-detector tests when their acts were questioned by those who pay their salaries? What if Hillary had to take a lie detector test concerning her emails, Whitewater, Benghazi, Whitewater and the death of Vince Foster?

What if when federal judge David Bunning issued his contempt order for the Kentucky County Clerk, the “constitution enforcement” officers told the good judge “That is your opinion, let’s see you enforce it?”

This country could see a dramatic return to constitutional governance if the people we pay huge amounts of money to honor their sacred oath to our Constitution were to simply “uphold and defend” instead of continue on the path of enforcing the laws of the tyrant.

Don’t hold your breath; to accomplish this would require the people of this country to cease worshiping the hundreds of thousands of government employees who daily refuse to honor their oaths. It would require those who are paid untold millions of tax dollars to “uphold and defend,” to honor that sacred oath and actually know what is, and what is not, constitutional. It would also require an informed populace who would know when the bait and switch from constitution to rule of the tyrant had occurred.

The first step would be to arrest and publicly tar and feather all government employees who believe the federal government is lord over all; their unconstitutional acts, words and laws are gospel and must be honored and enforced.

In Rightful Liberty

Outstanding Article. The first persons that should be immediately arrested are Barack Obama and Joe Biden for usurpation of their respective offices, John McCain who is complicit by virtue of the fact that he is also ineligible to have been President and Nancy Pelosi who lied saying that Obama was constitutionally eligible. Then we arrest Hillary Clinton for Espionage. That’s a good start in restoring our American Republic to it’s proper standing.
