“EDUCATION IS THE KEY”

(May 29, 2015) — “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Roving Reporter here at the ‘Institute of What’s Happening’ smack-dab in the epicenter of, well, there’s just no other word for it, is there? Stupidity, otherwise known as ‘The Nation’s Capitol: Washington, D.C.’ We’re in the outer offices of the director of the IWH and have been for over an hour trying to get an interview with Mr. Zimmer. We know he’s in there, and we’ve been pounding on this-here door.”
Camera zooms in on Roving Reporter standing in front of the office door pounding the frame with both fists.
“Open up! We know you’re in there! Why you’re hiding from us? What’s happening to the human beings on the planet earth?! Have we all gone nuts?! Open up!”
The sounds of chains are heard as we see the door open a crack and a weak, feeble voice is heard.
“Please, Mr. Roving Reporter, we’ve been watching you with great interest on our portable television set. You seem to be upset for some reason. How may we be of some assistance?”
“Uh, I was just wondering if I can interview you. You see, all these young people are gung-ho on joining ISIS. It all sounds pretty stupid to most of us, and we’d like to hear the Institute’s take on it all.
“And by the way, I thought you were alone in your office. What’s this ‘we’ all about?”
“Oh, boy. ‘We’ is a figure of speech. I am the director of the IWH that has more than one employee, hence the ‘we’. Here, let me open the door all of the way and invite you into my office. You sit there and I’ll sit behind my desk. Would any of you like something to drink? We have a water cooler over there.
“Now, you asked why our young people are so stupid? They go off and want to kill children and Christians, and it’s not like people die quietly with no fuss. No, they fight back and scream and bleed and cry. But that’s what psychos thrive on; it’s their drug of choice.
“Listen: around the middle of the last century there was a movie about such a subject. It starred Vincent Price and was called ‘The Tingler.’ The premise was that fear was a tangible thing, like a spleen or a heart, that somehow grew out of the spinal cord. All very scary, for sure. That’s why it was called one of those ‘horror’ films. These young people are so immune to thrills that they have no feeling, no empathy, which is why they’re nuts; psychos; stupid; it all means the same.
“Like it’s ‘stupid to murder people for no reason.’ They play video games where they ‘kill’ people so they become immune to the feelings of others. The screams replace the ‘Zonk! Zonk! Beep! Beep!’ noises of the video games. Sick and stupid.”
“But is there any cure? Surely you must give us something to cling to. Is there no salvation?”
“Of course there’s salvation, but they’re just too damn stupid to be aware of it, plus they’re too darn lazy. ‘Johnny’ can’t read, so they never read a book, starting with the Bible. How do you expect them to read the Good Book when they leave school functionally illiterate? No, we failed them because we didn’t teach them right, and now they’ve become monsters and go off to kill just for the sake of getting a thrill.
“Sick and stupid. Why, just look at Ferguson and Baltimore. Reason out the window replaced with violence. Heck, if there were a Christian orphanage in the center of those riots, what are the chances that the little kids would’ve been taken out to the intersection and beheaded, and do you think that the police would’ve just stood there a block away and watched the whole thing?
“Here’s the point: well, two points. Gratuitous violence occurred and the police followed illegal orders. The illegal orders were to witness crimes being committed and just stand there like a bump on a log.
“There. Off you go. I’ve said all I got to say. Education is the key, always has been. Islam is pure stupidity, which translates to ‘honor killings’ and women treated as second-class citizens, and that’s just for starters. The Golden Rule is just too much for stupid people. You think I jest, make fun of the mentally-challenged. I do not. This is deathly serious business: beheading people, burning them alive, burying them up to their necks and left for dead, or stoning them until they are truly murdered.
“Muslims have been so desensitized to the sufferings of animals and people that they’ve become, over the last 1,400 years, another species; not human; just pure killing machines devoid of any semblance of empathy. They’ve become incapable of honor. You can’t take a Muslim at his word because we’ve learned, or at least some of us have, that the word of a Muslim is worthless, sad to say.
“Don’t get me wrong, there is the hope and chance of salvation for all people, but if they can’t read? Lost all empathy? You figure it out. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got work to do. Thank you, and good day to you and your crew.”
“Well, okay, thank you Mr. Zimmer.
“We’ve just had an interview with the director of the ‘Institute for What’s Happening’ and learned that education is the key. It seems only stupid people join ISIS. But I’m sure we’ve all thought that anyway. This is Roving Reporter saying thanks for watching. Goodnight.”
