CIVIL SOCIETY OR ANARCHY?

by OPOVV, ©2015

(May 2, 2015) — Baltimore, MD, will henceforth be known far and wide as the city that imploded over a blackmail scheme that was flawed from its inception. “Whenever the King goes against the basic principles of his Kingdom, then that Kingdom is doomed to failure.” I suppose another way of saying the same thing would be: “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

Sounds good, but it’s wrong: they do know exactly what they’re doing but they don’t care as long as they “Bow Down to the Mob.” Serving a concept of “justice” for “peace” (based on a public relations spin of the facts of the case to calm the hotheads in the mob) just doesn’t do it for us supporters of the Constitution.

The short of it is that the mob is being sold a pig in a poke, meaning that the mob is being sold a sack of goods that isn’t what it seems. They think that the mayor and her racist administration is not following the law, and they’re right, and because the mayor and her state’s attorney are not following the law of the land, most, if not all, of the charges brought against the six police officers will be thrown out, overturned, or just dropped in the future due to the facts seeing the light of day and time served.

The long of it is that it’s a big black eye for the city of Baltimore. Who in his right mind would have a business in a place where they make up the rules as they go along? Either you have a system in place or you have anarchy. No entrepreneur in his right mind would bet his future earnings on a place that refuses to protect the small business owner. What bank would gamble the shareholders’ money in a place that allows looting and arson?

Looking the other way is not an answer. Playing to the crowd, trying to please misfits, thugs, and the uneducated isn’t good for anyone, least of all the good folks in the city of Baltimore.

And then, when reason prevails, when the lady of justice enters the fray and calms the waters, the mayor and her entourage of “not quite understanding the Constitution” where everyone is considered innocent and afforded his day in court, then the Truth shall emerge victorious.

If those six policemen are guilty of the charges leveled at them, so be it. But, if, on the other hand, those six policemen are not guilty, also so be it.

We endorse the concept of a Special Prosecutor, where no amount of political persuasion can be brought to sway toward the mayor’s desired results: all guilty of every charge and sentenced to life in prison.

There’s no joke here. Let me ask you this: What literature was Freddie Gray made to memorize while he was attending public schools? Was he required to blow into the Tonette and play the Marine Hymn as I had to while standing in front of the 5th grade class? What about being asked to recite “Trees” by Joyce Kilmer; “Gettysburg Address” by Abraham Lincoln; “Preamble to the Constitution;” “Pledge of Allegiance;” “Star Spangled Banner;” “The Raven” by Edger Allan Poe; or the “23rd Psalm ” and others?

Meanwhile, the young man who died: it is a shame to have lived a wasted life of drugs and crime. But it was he, after all, who chose his own road. His choice. All the power to him. One thing we don’t have to be concerned about, however, is that the chances of his having any overdue library book is nonexistent. That’s the key, isn’t it? Not that he didn’t have a library card, the fact that he never ever considered having one in the first place.

The Attorney General of Baltimore is the Pontius Pilate of our day.
