WHY DID TRUMP BREAK HIS SILENCE ON TUESDAY?

The topic will be remarks made by Donald Trump at the National Press Club on Tuesday about his pressuring of Obama to release his long-form birth certificate early in 2011. In late 2012, Trump challenged Obama to release his passport and college application forms in exchange for $5,000,000, raised to $50,000,000 before Trump’s set deadline, to be given to a charity of Obama’s choosing.
On April 27, 2011, the White House released what is purported to be Obama’s long-form birth certificate from the Hawaii Department of Health. However, within 24 hours, it was denounced as a forgery by several experts, which was confirmed the following year by the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse.
On Tuesday, Trump acknowledged that the “authenticity” of Obama’s long-form birth certificate has been questioned and conveyed a theory as to why Obama’s original biography stated that he was “born in Kenya.” In April 2007, the biography was changed to say that Obama was born in Hawaii, two months after he declared himself a presidential candidate.
The U.S. Constitution requires that the president be a “natural born Citizen.”
Trump said he sees three distinct possibilities as to why Obama was said to be “born in Kenya:” that he really was born there; that he was born in the U.S. but invented a false narrative in order to be eligible for foreign aid to attend college; and that his posted long-form birth certificate is authentic and his public life story accurate.
Volin is the producer of the “Sheriff’s Kit,” which he and other volunteers have distributed to members of the media, Congress, and private and public individuals to inform them of how the posse discovered that Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form are “computer-generated forgeries.” Volin and his team have distributed at least 300 of the kits between a recent visit to Congress and a trip made in November.
Trump has remained relatively quiet about his desire to see Obama’s passport and college applications since issuing his challenge to Obama in late October 2012.
