Miki Booth Recounts Her Experience at Operation American Spring

“IT’S NOT OVER”

by Sharon Rondeau

(May 21, 2014) — On Tuesday, The Post & Email spoke with author, constitutional activist and former congressional candidate Miki Booth, who traveled to Washington, DC on Thursday to attend the first two days of Operation American Spring (OAS).

OAS founder Col. Harry Riley (Ret.) conceived the movement as a grassroots protest organized to bring grievances to elected officials and demand the resignation of those perceived as corrupt and in violation of their oaths of office.  Riley said that people will stay in Washington “until the mission is complete.”

Detractors have attempted to characterize the effort as a failure, but Riley had planned the event to be ongoing, understanding that some people would be able to come to the opening on Friday, while others would come later in the month or later.  Photos of the event thus far are posted at The American Patriot Revolution, the Save America Foundation, and Overpasses for America.

Observers have commented that there is a “media blackout” about OAS.  Riley was a guest on the Mark Connors show on Tuesday, with other interviews presented here and here by alternative media.  On Wednesday morning, the Twitter feed for #OperationAmericanSpring contained updates and links to more videos.

It is suspected that sabotage is involved in the malfunctioning of live-streaming feeds.

“We’re moving forward with this.  This is big.  I can tell because of the all the Obama operatives’ attacks on us, trying to minimize, neutralize, the same things they always do, but they are really coming out in force on this one.  It’s not over.  I was able to stay only for Friday and Saturday, although I really wanted to be there Sunday for the prayer service,” Booth told us.

“When they talk about that million, we’re going to get them, because there are people coming and going all the time.  There are motorcycle groups that have set a date to be there, so they’re going to be out there in numbers.  The Pennsylvania Sons of Liberty Riders are going to be there on another day, so there’s another large contingent of bikers.  So this thing is going to continue to grow,” Booth said.

She then told The Post & Email:

“What I took away from it personally was that I made some fantastic contacts.  There are so many people in the movement:  the Tea Party, the militia, all of these groups that are participating in Operation American Spring, and they don’t necessarily know about the whole (Obama) birth certificate controversy.  They’re there for what they believe in:  defending our Constitution, so I got a chance to talk to some very high-ranking people within the movement who are now on board with us after seeing the evidence.

Mike Volin founded wheresobamasbirthcertificate.com in a quest to discover Obama’s background and other information he has obscured from public scrutiny

“They had heard peripherally, but they weren’t hearing it from the horse’s mouth from people like Mike Volin, who has made a big impact on all factions of this movement.  There are people rallying to join us all the time, so that was a big accomplishment.”

Booth said that pastor and radio show host Dr. Wiley Drake, the official chaplain for OAS, “opened every day with a morning prayer on his website and on his radio show.”  Booth told us that Drake’s church is located in Buena Park, CA, but that Drake is also the president of the Congressional Prayer Conference of Washington, DC.  “He came from California to Operation American Spring on what he called the ‘prayer train.’  He and all his prayer warriors were calling in to the radio show.  He came by train all the way from California to DC,” she informed us.

Booth also said that the producer of the video on which the Obama regime blamed the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, Nikoula Nikoula, was given housing by Drake following his release from prison.  As news reports had said, Booth described Nikoula as a Coptic Christian.  “He had to have a place to be released to, and he requested that he be released to Pastor Wiley Drake.  So Pastor Drake met with government officials to qualify to be the person to take him in.  Pastor Drake’s church has always taken in the homeless, the poor, and the hungry and given them food and housing.  So Nikoula Nikoula is still at Wiley Drake’s church, where he is an assistant pastor,” Booth revealed.

[Editor’s Note:  The Post & Email found that searching for any information on Nikoula yields virtually nothing using both the Bing and Yahoo search engines.]

Booth explained that Drake is currently working with Dr. James David Manning of ATLAH Ministries to coordinate an event on July 4 to bring Americans together in a “healing and reconciliation of the races” at Gettysburg, PA, where President Abraham Lincoln gave The Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863.

Regarding the findings of the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse which are that Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form are “computer-generated forgeries,” Booth said that although many at OAS had heard about the birth certificate, a significant number were unaware that the Selective Service registration form was also found to be fraudulent.

Having spoken with numerous attendees about the results of the Cold Case Posse’s investigation, Booth said, “They know in their hearts that it’s true.  These things break into their subconscious…Neil Abercrombie and all of these others who say that that’s been ‘debunked’… there’s that kernel of uncertainty there, so they don’t go after it.  They’re afraid if they do, not knowing what we know about it, that their credibility will be attacked.”

“What was the most frequent complaint you heard while you were there?” The Post & Email asked her.

There was a pause, after which Booth responded, “There’s too much of a laundry list; there are so many things:  the whole cram-down of this communist government.  They’re trying to take away our guns; they’ve taken away our rights; what I heard a lot about was the thing about ‘I have a pen and a phone,‘ bypassing the other branches of government.  Truly, he’s (Obama) acting like a king, a monarch.  So that’s the biggest thing.  We’re all going after him, because although there are all these other things such as Shinseki, they know that the fish rots from the head down, so we’re going after him.

“Understanding that head counts are difficult, does anyone have any idea how many people might have shown up in DC on the first couple of days?”

“I talked to Pastor Drake, who spends more of his time in DC than he does in California.  He lives in a hostel when he stays there, so he’s on Capitol Hill all the time and speaks to congress people.  He’s the one who called me, and I told Mike (Volin) that he ran into (Sen. Mitch) McConnell last fall, who asked for a Sheriff’s Kit to be sent.  So we did that.  It was Pastor Drake who said he knows how to count crowds and numbers, and he said, ‘Ignore the distractions out there; there were about 5,000 people the first day,'” Booth said.

Booth explained that there were several groups of people at different Washington landmarks simultaneously, which might have made the numbers look smaller than they actually were.  “We ended up at the Washington Monument and marched to the location where they actually had the permit, which was in front of the Air and Space Museum.  There were people already assembled there.  The people who didn’t know that they were supposed to go to the Washington Monument were told that the rallying point would be the White House, the Air and Space Museum, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.  So people went to various locations.  It was very confusing, because the rallying points that Col. Riley was talking about are points that are going to be visited all throughout Operation American Spring.  I don’t even know that ours was the biggest group at the Washington Monument.  I don’t know that, because there was no way to communicate among the groups to all converge at the permitted place, outside the Air and Space Museum.”

“During the Sunday prayer service, Kari said that she had taken you to the airport and that you were very sad to leave. How did it feel when you left?” we asked Booth.

“I was happy to be there; I was proud to be there. I had all these wonderful emotions from being among people with the same heart, and we all are carrying the same burdens that this regime has put upon us.  They’re like my family now.  The national attention I got way back in 2010 from the first national Tea Party meeting created a following of sorts, people who are aware that I’m from Hawaii and I’ve kind-of been there all along, and I’ve been screaming at the top of my lungs that Obama’s a fraud and that his birth certificate is a forgery and that he wasn’t born in Kapiolani.  It’s the same people:  we go way back.  I had a chance to meet Carl Swensson, and people were coming up to me because they recognized me.  One man knelt down in front of me while I was sitting down, and he looked at my face and said, ‘I recognize you and I want to thank you for everything that you’ve done.’  That kind of thing just brings tears to my eyes,” Booth said.

Booth recounted that she had met radio host Brian D. Lange at a rally held by Atty. Larry Klayman last fall while she and others were distributing Sheriff’s Kits to inform the public of the Obama document forgeries.  “He’s younger, but he’s like a big brother because he’s so tall.  He’s been a really good friend,” Booth said.  At OAS, she and Lange met for the second time, which led to another very special encounter.

“On Saturday, we met again at the Washington Monument and marched to the Air and Space Museum group, and they made the plan that everybody was going to march to the White House.  That’s when Mike Volin and everyone were there.  It was very, very moving what they did at the White House:  everybody turned their backs to the White House and put their flags upside-down.  It was a short ceremony because Charles Strange, the father of Michael Strange, who was killed in Extortion 17, spoke afterward.  I stayed back, and when the bulk of the group returned, Brian Lange was among them, and he had in tow Charles Strange.  He brought him up to me, and said, ‘This is the girl I was telling you about.’  So I met him, shook his hand, and I let him know that I knew exactly what was going on.  I didn’t want to make it a sad thing, but I wanted to let him know that we support his endeavors with the michaelstrangefoundation.org.

“He was accompanied by two young men from the Pennsylvania Sons of Liberty Riders.  They have a blog, and they interviewed me, and I got to say why I was there, etc.  Brian had said earlier that he wanted to take Kari and me out to dinner.  So I let Mike and the group from WheresObamasBirthCertificate know that Kari and I were going to go with Brian out to dinner.  We decided on a steak dinner because Kari and I hadn’t eaten very well the whole day.  We ended up leaving much, much later, and Brian touched base with Charles Strange, saying, ‘Hey, Charles, do you want to go out for a steak with us?’ and he said, “Yeah, sure.’  So I had dinner with Charles Strange, and I sat in between him and Brian Lange, and across from us sat Kari and the two young men from Sons of Liberty because they were traveling with Charles Strange.

“I think that that is the most memorable thing I have from Operation American Spring.  We talked about things, and we laughed and cried and reminisced.  Charles was telling me that when Michael was in SEAL Team 2, he lived in Hawaii, and he had gone to visit him there.  So we had all of these conversations about Hawaii, and it was just the best thing.  I have it on my Facebook page.  I can hardly believe that here’s a picture of me sitting in between Brian Lange of Truth Radio and Charles Strange.

Booth is working with Pastor Manning on the “Healing and Reconciliation of the Races” event on July 4. “Pastor Wiley Drake is co-chair of this event,” she said.  “I talked to Col. Riley’s chief of staff, Terry Trussell, about it, and they’re on board; they’re coming.  They’re going to tell everybody about it.  I also talked to James Neighbors from Overpasses for America, and he’s on board.  He’s going to get the word out to the Overpasses people.  We’re telling everybody, ‘Come to Gettsyburg July 4; bring a picnic lunch; leave any racism behind, and join us,'” she said.

The Post & Email asked if the purpose were a historic or a modern-day one, or both.

President Abraham Lincoln gave “The Gettysburg Address” on November 19, 1863. Obama claimed to admire Lincoln when he was campaigning for the presidency in 2008.

“It’s both, but the historic part of it is the blacks and the whites, basically, and The Gettysburg Address, which brought us all together,” Booth responded.  “The regime uses race as a sword against us.  If you say anything negative about Obama or the regime, you’re labeled as a racist.  Those people have divided this country; they’ve divided us.  So this event is going to be a healing, and everyone is going to be there.”

Booth related that unarmed individuals provided security for OAS attendees and praised their expertise.  “I call them ‘militia’ because they belong to militias in their states.  The primary thing, though, is that they’re protecting our Second Amendment rights.  They were instrumental in organizing the marchers.  As the lights changed when we were marching, they were there to make sure that nobody advanced until everybody was out of the crosswalk.  They made sure that everybody was kept close and that the people in wheelchairs and on scooters who couldn’t keep up were protected.”

Booth told us that on Friday, she saw Tracy Fair, who The Post & Email later interviewed about her encounter with an NBC News reporter at OAS.  “I was trying to get the attention of a security person to tell them that I got some intel from a former Marine.  The marchers were going by, and Tracy was going by.  I knew I knew her, as I had met her at CPAC two years ago.  She helped me a lot that day,” Booth recalled.

Booth said that she saw the NBC reporter who interviewed Fair.   “He stayed with the crowd. I was there when he interviewed Captain America – the guy who is at all of the Tea Parties and has the gigantic American flag.  His name is Jim Griffin, and we go way back.  He’s a very close friend of mine also.  He was interviewed, and then afterward, he said, ‘As if they’re actually going to report what I said…'”

It does not appear that NBC has reported on Operation American Spring as of press time for this article.

Booth is also active in a Facebook group which calls itself “We Demand Congress to Hear Sheriff Joe’s Investigation” which has been contacting members of Congress to ask if they are aware of the Sheriff’s Kit featuring the Cold Case Posse’s conclusions of forgery regarding Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form.

Benghazi protesters had a huge presence and many, many veterans were there. Although I said the security team was comprised if militia members, I should clarify that the security team was made up of volunteers from all walks of life especially law enforcement. They were very impressive and I’ve been married to a retired Honolulu Police Sgt. for 34 years. Also must clarify that there were too many memorable moments for me to highlight just one but my meeting Charles Strange and spending time with him was among my most memorable.
