“TAKING RESPONSIBILITY”

(Mar. 29, 2014) — Let’s cut to the chase: there’s only one reason to have a gun. If you want to go hunting, go, but don’t litter. You like to target practice, maybe enter a quick-draw competition? Go for it. Now if you mention that you prefer living, that you accept the responsibility of protecting your family, community and country, now we’re on the same page. If you’re aware of the offensive option as well as the defensive capabilities of a weapon, we’re on the same page. And if you’re aware that the other 1,000 reasons to have a weapon are valid, then we’re onto something here.
Just think of the millions of victims who needed a gun but didn’t have one: the muggings, home invasions, carjackings, kidnappings, murders and the rapes. Think about it this way: doing away with the bad guys is the same as protecting future victims.
Let’s say the neighbor next door has a home invasion and, because they are unable to protect themselves, the bad guys get away with it. As they’re making their getaway, they notice your teenage daughter sitting on your front steps. So now your daughter has become a target of some very bad people who don’t really care if your daughter graduates from high school to pursue becoming a doctor, maybe eventually finding a cure for cancer, or laziness.
The following week she’s kidnapped on her way to school and the next time you see her is in the morgue. And it’s all because your neighbor didn’t give a damn about the responsibility of protecting his family, and so you, and the community at large, suffer because of his failure.
[Reminds me of an outlaw gang that targeted a town in Wisconsin, and when the bad guys arrived, the citizens drove them out. So the next time there’s a drive-by shooting, if the people had guns they’d make sure the bad guys never made it out.]
So now it becomes your CIVIC DUTY to have the means to take care of business, no matter where you are. My father was an airline pilot for more than 30 years and, on every flight, he carried his service revolver. He carried the gun to prevent his plane being skyjacked and also to protect himself and crew at airports and hotels, notorious places for bad things to happen.
Trust me on this one: television isn’t real life. None of this “Stop or I’ll shoot.” And war isn’t like the movies; if it was, they’d pack the theater with insects that bite and sting and leeches that suck; plus they’d turn the humidity and heat way up; then they’d put in seat cushions made out of a thistle-weave; then they’d close the concession stand and turn off the water fountains, but at least they feed you C and K-rats left over from the Korean War; then they’d close the restrooms; then they’d block the EXITS; and after two days they’d figure you’d got your money’s worth and let you out.
Your life and the life of your country are worth stepping up to the plate and taking the responsibility to be a CITIZEN SOLDIER. After all, it’s the least you can do for your country.
Please, embrace the Second Amendment, for without weapons, we’ve no defense.

Very good article! Brief, concise and the logic and reasoning are sound. When I am approached by a new candidate, I ask about the fraud and their position on the Constitution and Second Amendment. They either make the grade or get scrubbed from consideration. No more RINOs. If the candidate is not knowledgeable and speaks political talk, he is immediately discounted.
Both I and my wife carry and are well situated to do what is required community wise.

Zeb, never received any verification on the OK who wanted to establish A-Teams, including sniper skills, therefore he received no response. Bob
I met an aspiring politician not long ago. He has a doctorate in medicine, was a leader in his local GOP, and a good Christian. Pretty high caliber person. So when he spoke about the 2nd Amendment I figured, here it comes. But the rhetoric was pretty straight forward: we need the 2nd A to protect ourselves from the over reach of the fedgov. But the clincher was when he stated that his young daughters were both trained in firearms safety and handling. So it’s not just Bubba and the right wingers that are getting the message!
